First Look At John Travolta’s Apple TV Airplane Movie

Apple TV has announced the release date for “Propeller One-Way Night Coach,” its upcoming film adaptation of the 1997 children’s book of the same name by Golden Globe winner John Travolta. The first image from the film has also been revealed, offering a glimpse of its two lead characters: newcomer Clark Shotwell as Jeff and Kelly Eviston-Quinnett as Jeff’s mother, Helen.

The film will make its world debut at the 2026 Cannes International Film Festival this May. Following the premiere, it will be available for global streaming on Apple TV starting May 29.
According to the official synopsis, the story is set during the golden age of aviation. It follows a young airplane enthusiast named Jeff and his mother as they embark on a one-way cross-country journey to Hollywood. What begins as a simple flight turns into an extraordinary adventure filled with airline meals, charming flight attendants, unexpected stopovers, larger-than-life passengers, and a first-class experience, all shaping the boy’s future in unexpected and magical ways.

“Propeller One-Way Night Coach” is written and directed by John Travolta in his feature directorial debut. Travolta also stars in the film as the narrator. The cast includes Olga Hoffmann as Liz and Ella Bleu Travolta, the actor’s daughter, as Doris. The film is produced by Jason Berger and Amy Laslett for Kids at Play, alongside Travolta for JTP Productions.
