Brian Geraghty Joins Cast of Crime Thriller “Kockroach” Shooting in Australia

Brian Geraghty has been cast in Matt Ross’ upcoming crime thriller Kockroach, currently shooting in Australia. He joins an impressive ensemble that includes Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, Zazie Beetz, Alec Baldwin, and Rachel Sennott. The film is based on William Lashner’s 2007 novel and tells the story of a mysterious outsider who climbs the ranks of New York’s criminal underworld to become a powerful crime boss. Director Matt Ross is helming the project from a screenplay by Jonathan Ames.

Geraghty’s recent work includes a role in Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ series 1923, where he starred alongside Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. On stage, he recently performed at the 2025 Williamstown Theatre Festival in Tennessee Williams’ Not About Nightingales, sharing the stage with Chris Messina and William Jackson Harper.

His notable film performances include playing Owen Eldridge, a bomb-disposal specialist, in Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker, and a role opposite Denzel Washington in Robert Zemeckis’ acclaimed Flight. Other film credits feature Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which premiered at Sundance and starred Zac Efron, Lily Collins, and John Malkovich; the drama Faith by Elias Daughdrill; and the indie The Luckiest Man in America, alongside Walton Goggins, Paul Walter Hauser, and David Strathairn.
