Renowned Monterrey sister-trio The Warning continues to carve their bold path in modern rock with their latest release, “Ego,” out now via Island EMI Label Group. Sung entirely in Spanish, the track arrives alongside an equally fierce official music video that debuted on MTV Live, mtvU, and graced the billboards of Times Square on Paramount.
From the very first note, “Ego” hits with a punchy electric guitar intro, razor-sharp riffs, and unstoppable momentum. The song stands out as one of The Warning’s heaviest and most confrontational tracks to date. Paulina Villarreal’s visceral screams propel the track into overdrive, creating an infectious energy that’s impossible to ignore. Towering instrumentation and an undeniable hook combine to forge a sound that’s both fierce and captivating.
On “Ego,” The Warning transform defiance into a powerful message of empowerment. The song boldly confronts themes of projection, criticism, and ego-driven negativity, refusing to let outside judgment define their identity or success. Instead, the band channels frustration into a fearless declaration of self-possession and resilience, inspiring listeners to stand tall in their own truth despite societal pressures.
The music video mirrors the song’s intensity with striking visuals that amplify the band’s fearless presence and rebellious spirit. Reflecting their message of reclaiming power, the band shared, “We loved shooting ‘Ego’! This video is all about embracing confidence, standing tall in your identity, and owning your power—even when the world is watching. It’s especially meaningful for us to release music in our first language, Spanish, and we hope you love this song and video as much as we do.”
“Ego” follows the release of “Kerosene,” an incendiary anthem that showcased The Warning’s sharp songwriting and uncompromising edge. Both singles exemplify the band’s evolving sound while reinforcing their chemistry and fearless attitude—hallmarks that have established them as one of modern rock’s most exciting acts.
Looking ahead, The Warning is poised for a significant global presence in 2026. The band will perform at major festivals across South America, Europe, and North America, including Lollapalooza festivals in South America and prominent European events. They will also support Yungblud on the IDOLS World Tour across the UK and US, culminating in a headline show at New York City’s Pier 17 on June 11.
