Beyoncé continues her tradition of shocking her fans with surprise releases. After popularizing the “shock drop” in 2013 with her self-titled album, she did it again this weekend by releasing a new song unexpectedly.

The track, titled Morning Dew (Donk), was unveiled during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Reports indicate that it was originally intended for her second album, B’Day, which was released in 2006.

According to a statement from Beyoncé’s team, the song serves as a “direct nod to her loyal BeyHive to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of B’Day,” as reported by Rolling Stone. The song was co-written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, with production credits going to Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams. Alongside the song, a lyric video featuring vintage footage shot by Cliff Watts—who also photographed Beyoncé for the 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover—was released.

B’Day will mark its 20th anniversary this September, and Morning Dew (Donk) will be included in a forthcoming reissue of the album. Details about the re-release have not yet been disclosed.
