Danny McBride to Make Directorial Debut on New G.I. Joe Film at Paramount

Danny McBride, recently tapped to write the next G.I. Joe movie for Paramount, is now set to make his directorial debut with a new film based on the iconic Hasbro toy franchise. While plot details are still under wraps, sources indicate that the project has become a top priority for the studio now that McBride is on board to helm the film.

Originally launched in the 1960s as a simple soldier toy, G.I. Joe gained immense popularity in the 1980s, boosted by an animated series that introduced audiences to a skilled commando strike force. The upcoming movie is expected to feature legendary characters such as Duke, Roadblock, and Snake Eyes, bringing the classic team back to the big screen.

Paramount has previously released three G.I. Joe films: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (starring Channing Tatum), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (featuring Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis), and a Snake Eyes spin-off in 2021 with Henry Golding. Fans are eager to see how this new installment will evolve the franchise under McBride’s direction.
