Hannah Waddingham, best known for her role in Ted Lasso, has been cast to star alongside Jason Statham in the upcoming action-comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike. The film has been shooting since June across the UK and Malta.
This marks the first confirmed casting announcement since initial reports about the project surfaced in February. The film reunites Waddingham with director David Leitch, with whom she previously collaborated on The Fall Guy.
Statham is reuniting with Leitch, who directed him in Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train, for this high-octane project. The movie is set to follow Statham in a “role of a lifetime,” portraying a global action star named Jason Statham. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to feature numerous action set pieces and is conceived as a PG-13, tongue-in-cheek comedy, as suggested by its meta title.
Produced by Black Bear and Leitch’s 87North banner, Jason Statham Stole My Bike is scheduled for release in North America on August 6, 2027. The screenplay, written by Alison Flierl based on a story by Flierl and Scott Chernoff, promises a fun, action-packed adventure. The film is produced by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch for Punch Palace Productions, John Friedberg for Black Bear, and Meredith Berg and Ethan Erwin for Beryllium Entertainment.
