Kate Beckinsale (Underworld), Dermot Mulroney (Chicago Fire), Robert Knepper (Prison Break), and rapper Sticky Fingaz have joined forces for the action-thriller Drifter, currently filming on location across Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
Directed by Randall Emmett, the movie also stars Bill Sage, Beau Bommarito, Ema Horvath, Maia Kai, and entrepreneur/media personality John Cerasani.
Set in a quiet Midwestern town, Drifter centers on Wendy Ford, an interim police chief eager to prove herself worthy of her late father’s badge. When she arrests a mysterious drifter with a secret past, Wendy soon finds herself trapped inside her isolated police station. Impostors posing as FBI agents and a heavily armed mercenary team launch a deadly attack to free one of her prisoners. Forced to form an uneasy alliance with the enigmatic drifter, Wendy must unravel the truth behind the assault before her town—and everyone in the station—is destroyed.
The film is produced and fully financed by Convergence Entertainment, an independent production and finance company founded by Randall Emmett and Joel Cohen, who also serve as producers alongside Dream Team Films.
“We’re excited to start production on Drifter and to shoot in Cleveland,” said director Emmett. “Working with Kate Beckinsale has been everything we hoped for. We’ve wanted to collaborate for a long time, and she has surpassed all expectations. With Dermot, Robert, and this incredible cast, we’re creating something truly special and can’t wait for audiences to see it.”
Emmett’s previous action thriller, The Gentleman Thief, starring John Travolta, was released on July 28, 2026, by Vertical.
