DreamWorks Animation is taking audiences on an unforgettable adventure with Forgotten Island, a heartfelt new animated film about friendship, family, and the fear of growing apart.
The film stars an impressive ensemble including Grammy and Academy Award® winner H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, and Tony Award-winning icon Lea Salonga.
At the heart of the story are lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa, voiced by H.E.R. and Liza Soberano. Having grown up together, the two are facing an uncertain future as high school graduation sends them down separate paths. But on their final night together, an unexpected discovery changes everything.
The friends stumble through a mysterious portal and find themselves on Nakali, a fantastical island filled with the magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing about from their Filipino families.
Among their unusual new companions is Raww, a well-meaning but hapless weredog voiced by Dave Franco. Alongside a small but spirited group of friends, Jo and Raissa must confront the island’s most terrifying creature, The Dreaded Manananggal, voiced by Lea Salonga.
But escaping Nakali comes with a devastating price: the memories of Jo and Raissa’s friendship. Now, the best friends must find a way home before they forget each other forever.
Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, and produced by Academy Award® nominee Mark Swift, the team behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Forgotten Island promises a colorful adventure with plenty of heart.
