Florence Hunt, best known for her role as Hyacinth Bridgerton in Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton, is set to star alongside Isla Fisher and Colin Firth in Bare, the feature directorial debut of BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Lorna Tucker.
The film’s ensemble cast also includes Sky Frances, Ruaridh Mollica, Séamus McLean Ross, Mirren Mack, Lewis Gribben, Tut Nyuot, Clay Russell, Umi Myers and Shane Walker. Celebrity DJ Fatboy Slim is also set to make a cameo appearance.
Based on Tucker’s own memoir and lived experiences, Bare is described as “a coming-of-age survival story set on the streets of London.” Hunt plays Sophie, a young runaway who discovers an unlikely chosen family while searching for a sense of belonging and beginning the journey to reclaim her identity.
The film is produced by Gillian Berrie, Savannah Power, Marcus Warren and Christian Moore, with Pia Patatian and Dimiter Nikolov serving as executive producers.
Noora Films is handling worldwide sales and is set to introduce the project to buyers at this week’s TIFF market.
Tucker is best known for her acclaimed documentaries Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist and Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son, the latter of which explored homelessness in London. Bare marks her transition from documentary filmmaking into narrative features, drawing heavily on her own experiences.
For Hunt, the project represents a major step beyond her work on Bridgerton, where she has gained recognition for playing the youngest Bridgerton sibling, Hyacinth.
