Kings Of Leon are turning the spotlight back on their past with the announcement of their upcoming tenth studio album, ‘O My Beloved’, alongside the release of its heartfelt first single, ‘My Whole World’.
Due out November 6 through Love Tap Records, ‘O My Beloved’ follows the band’s 2024 album Can We Please Have Fun and finds the Tennessee rockers embracing a more personal and reflective side of their songwriting.
Across its 13 tracks, the album explores themes of family, childhood memories, relationships and the experiences that have shaped Kings Of Leon throughout their career. Rather than simply looking forward, frontman Caleb Followill and his bandmates have chosen to reflect on the journey that brought them to where they are today.
The newly released ‘My Whole World’ provides the first taste of that approach. The tender track is built around feelings of gratitude and appreciation, with its themes of family and the people who have remained important throughout the band’s rise.
Followill describes the album as something of a love letter to the people closest to the band, as well as the fans who have supported them throughout their career.
“We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special,” Followill says.
He explains that the idea behind the album came from wanting to pause and appreciate the experiences that have shaped the band.
“I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here,” he says.
That reflection has allowed the band to revisit moments from their childhood and family life that may not have seemed particularly significant at the time, but have taken on a much greater meaning with age.
The result promises to be one of Kings Of Leon’s most open and intimate records to date, bringing together memories from their past with the perspective they’ve gained through years of life on the road.
