The SAW franchise appears to be getting ready to welcome audiences back into Jigsaw’s twisted world.
A cryptic new post from the official SAW social media account has sparked plenty of speculation, with the franchise sharing the simple message, “did you miss me?” alongside eerie new footage and images.
The first teaser features the unmistakable Billy the Puppet riding a small tricycle through a dark, unfinished-looking concrete room. A second image then offers an even bigger clue, showing what appears to be the cover page of a screenplay titled “UNTITLED SAW,” with Mike P. Nelson credited as director.
The post does not reveal a title, plot details, cast or release date, keeping the next chapter firmly under wraps for now.
Nelson is no stranger to horror. The filmmaker previously directed the Wrong Turn reboot, segments of V/H/S/85 and Silent Night, Deadly Night, as well as Lionsgate’s upcoming survival horror film Beware Boiúna.
The mysterious announcement comes after Saw X returned the franchise to its central mythology, bringing Tobin Bell’s John Kramer back into the spotlight. The new project could therefore represent a significant new direction for the long-running series, although the exact relationship between Nelson’s film and the previous movies has not yet been revealed.
For now, Lionsgate and the SAW team are keeping the details locked away. But with Billy back on his tricycle and a screenplay officially labelled “UNTITLED SAW,” it certainly appears that another game is about to begin.
