Occupational Hazard: The First Coral Rfeaeefers has begun its theatrical rollout, bringing the origin story of Jimmy Buffett’s original Coral Reefer Band to screens across the U.S.
Directed by John H. Cunningham and narrated by Jeff Bridges, the documentary travels back to the 1970s and early 1980s to examine the musicians, friendships, touring years and studio sessions that helped shape Buffett’s sound and the fan culture that eventually grew around it.
The film incorporates rare archival footage and interviews with founding band members, tour managers, producers and musicians including Kenny Chesney, Mac McAnally and Keith Sykes.
The theatrical rollout began in Key West around Jimmy Buffett Day and expands through cities including New York and Los Angeles before a U.S. and Canadian digital release in November.
