Marvel Studios has unveiled a fresh look at VisionQuest, giving fans their first major glimpse at what lies ahead for White Vision following the events of WandaVision.
The 34-second trailer follows Paul Bettany’s Vision as he continues his search for answers about his identity and fragmented memories. After leaving Westview at the end of WandaVision, the android appears to be struggling to understand who he has become and what remains of the Vision he once was.
One of the trailer’s biggest surprises is the apparent live-action debut of Jim Hammond, Marvel Comics’ original Human Torch. Unlike Johnny Storm, the Human Torch associated with the Fantastic Four, Hammond is a synthetic android created by writer-artist Carl Burgos in 1939.
A fiery figure briefly seen inside an office has been widely identified as Hammond, based on reports from Marvel insider DanielRPK and subsequent trailer breakdowns. If confirmed, his appearance would connect VisionQuest to one of Marvel Comics’ earliest characters while potentially expanding the MCU’s history of artificial beings.
Hammond may also have an established connection to the MCU. In Captain America: The First Avenger, an android resembling the original Human Torch can be seen inside a glass display at the 1943 Stark World Exposition. The mysterious figure was never fully explained, but VisionQuest could finally provide a deeper connection.
In the comics, Hammond’s synthetic body eventually became closely associated with the creation of Vision, making his potential role in the new Disney+ series particularly significant.
The trailer also hints at a much deeper mystery surrounding Vision’s programming. An ominous voice asks, “What is happening to your world, Vision?”, while the android moves through glitching digital environments, laboratories and other mysterious locations.
Several shots suggest that Vision may be interacting with artificial intelligence systems connected to his programming. The footage also features government personnel, unidentified technology and a red-eyed mechanical threat, hinting that Vision could face more than just an identity crisis.
Adding another major connection to his past, James Spader returns as the voice of Ultron. Ultron’s presence suggests that Vision’s story could once again intersect with the artificial intelligence responsible for his creation, potentially setting up a confrontation between the former allies and enemies.
VisionQuest is expected to consist of eight episodes and serves as the latest chapter in the storyline that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
VisionQuest is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
