Lindsay Lohan is returning to the romantic comedy genre with Netflix’s upcoming feature Return to You, in which she will star alongside Henry Golding. Lohan, best known for films including Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, will also serve as a producer on the project.
The film will be directed by Mark Waters, who previously worked with Lohan on both Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. Brad Krevoy, who produced Netflix romantic hits Falling for Christmas and Irish Wish, is also set to produce, marking another collaboration with Lohan.
Written by Eric Champnella, Return to You is set in 2008 and follows a successful but lonely female attorney, played by Lohan, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she mistakenly receives an emotional DVD intended for a dying woman’s husband, portrayed by Golding.
Intrigued by the personal message contained on the DVD, she decides to track down the man it was meant for. Using the limited clues provided by the recording, she embarks on a journey that could change both their lives.
Olivia Krevoy, Jimmy Townsend, Galen Fletcher, and Champnella will executive produce the film.
Return to You brings together two actors with extensive experience in romance-driven movies. Lohan’s recent credits include Falling for Christmas (2022), Irish Wish (2024), and Our Little Secret (2024), alongside earlier films such as Just My Luck (2006).
Golding rose to international prominence with Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and has since appeared in romantic and drama features including Last Christmas (2019), Monsoon (2020), and Daniela Forever (2024).
With Lohan reuniting with Waters and Krevoy while sharing the screen with Golding, Return to You marks another Netflix romance collaboration for the actress and brings together a team with a strong track record in the genre.
