Apple TV has released the official trailer for Nocturne, its upcoming crime drama series starring Liev Schreiber.
The 10-episode series will premiere globally on Apple TV on Friday, October 30, 2026, with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday through December 25.
Created by Rowan Joffé, Nocturne is based on the Joona Linna novels Lazarus and The Sandman, written by husband-and-wife authors Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril under the pseudonym Lars Kepler.
The series follows Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), an ex-soldier who becomes a homicide detective after leaving behind the chaos of city life. Hoping to build a quieter life with his family, Jonah moves to a small town in western Pennsylvania. However, his plans for a peaceful new beginning quickly unravel when a ruthless serial killer sets his sights on the community and Jonah’s family.
When the investigation points toward the notorious Jurek Walter, Jonah turns to his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Zazie Beetz), for help. Together, they must uncover the truth and stop the killer before more lives are put at risk.
The newly released trailer opens with glimpses of Schreiber and Beetz before introducing the investigation into a series of disappearances and murders. Police reveal that they have finally found their first major lead in the case.
Jonah is then seen studying an evidence board as the investigation intensifies. The trailer also offers the first look at Stephen Graham as Jurek Walter, a dangerous serial killer believed to have been imprisoned for years.
“Jurek Walter has been locked in the basement of the Riverside Psychiatric Hospital under six feet of concrete,” an officer tells Saga. “But people are disappearing again. Just like before.”
Determined to uncover what is really happening, Saga goes undercover to confront Jurek and search for answers. The trailer continues with a series of tense moments from the investigation, teasing a dark cat-and-mouse battle between the detectives and the elusive murderer.
Alongside Schreiber, Beetz, and Graham, the cast includes Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Gary Carr, and Poorna Jagannathan.
Nocturne premieres Friday, October 30, 2026, with its first two episodes on Apple TV.
