Tate McRae is officially entering a new chapter.
The Canadian pop star has announced that her next single, “Housewife,” will be released on October 15, 2026, marking the first official release of what appears to be a brand-new era for the singer.
McRae revealed the news through social media, sharing the striking artwork for the track. In the image, the singer wears a red bikini while standing beside a baby stroller filled with cash, with a large diamond ring adding another eye-catching detail to the visual.
The announcement itself was simple: “Housewife. Out 10.15.”
While McRae has yet to reveal exactly what the song is about, the title and artwork have already sparked plenty of curiosity among fans. The release also comes after several hints that the pop star has been preparing to move in a new artistic direction.
One of the biggest clues arrived during McRae’s headlining performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August. During “Sports Car,” the singer climbed into a bathtub filled with shimmering gold paint before emerging covered in the metallic substance as fireworks erupted around her.
The elaborate performance appeared to fit into the broader concept of her show, which explored the theme “The Anatomy of a Popstar” and featured Greco-Roman-inspired visuals and an emphasis on transformation.
“Housewife” follows the enormous success of McRae’s third studio album, So Close to What. Released in 2025, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving McRae her first chart-topping album in the United States. It also produced 11 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Sports Car,” which peaked at No. 16.
McRae subsequently scored her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “What I Want,” her collaboration with Morgan Wallen. The song reached the top of the chart in May 2025, while her later single “Tit for Tat” climbed to No. 3.
With that momentum behind her, “Housewife” could represent the beginning of an entirely new phase for one of pop’s fastest-rising stars.
For now, McRae is keeping the details close to the chest, but fans won’t have to wait much longer.
