Marvel Television is expanding its Disney+ lineup with Zodiac, a mysterious new live-action spy thriller series scheduled to premiere in 2028. The project was officially announced during Marvel’s presentation at New York Comic Con, offering fans an early glimpse at what could become an intriguing new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although plot details remain under wraps, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum confirmed that the series will begin filming in London in spring 2027, with casting expected to get underway in the coming weeks.
A newly revealed logo has already sparked speculation about the show’s potential connections to Marvel’s established characters and organisations. Winderbaum hinted that the design contains several hidden details for comic book fans, suggesting there is more to the project than its mysterious title initially reveals.
One notable feature within the logo appears to reference S.H.I.E.L.D., the intelligence and security organisation formerly led by Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The visual connection has raised questions about whether the series will revisit the world of Marvel espionage and explore the organisation’s wider history.
In Marvel Comics, the name Zodiac has been associated with several characters and groups, including a criminal organisation whose members represent the 12 signs of the zodiac. However, Marvel has yet to confirm which interpretation will inspire the television series, leaving plenty of room for speculation.
The announcement also arrives as Marvel continues to reshape its television slate. With VisionQuest preparing to debut and Daredevil: Born Again approaching its planned conclusion, Zodiac represents a fresh addition to the studio’s live-action storytelling plans. The series could also offer an opportunity for Marvel to explore a more grounded, suspense-driven corner of its expansive superhero universe.
For now, the studio is keeping the finer details firmly secret. No cast members, additional creative team announcements or official story synopsis have been revealed.
With filming scheduled to begin next year and a 2028 premiere planned for Disney+, Marvel fans will have to wait for further updates to discover exactly what Zodiac has in store.
