Ella Purnell is back as one of television’s most unpredictable antiheroes, with a new trailer for Sweetpea Season 2 teasing a dangerous new chapter for Rhiannon Lewis. The darkly comic thriller is set to return with more secrets, mounting body counts and a copycat killer threatening to unravel everything she has worked to keep hidden.
Following the events of the first season, Rhiannon is attempting to take control of her life. However, her transformation from an overlooked wallflower into a ruthless killer is far from over, and her increasingly complicated double life threatens to catch up with her.
The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into Rhiannon’s changing circumstances as she navigates a promotion at the Carnsham Gazette, a new romantic interest and the continued pursuit of Marina Farrar, who remains determined to uncover the truth about her.
Things take a particularly dangerous turn with the arrival of a copycat killer whose murders threaten to expose Rhiannon’s own deadly secrets. As the body count rises, she must confront the possibility that she may not be the only person capable of turning murder into a twisted form of justice.
The trailer also raises questions about Rhiannon’s morality, revisiting the uncomfortable suggestion from her former partner, AJ, that she may be a monster. While Rhiannon believes her own actions serve a purpose, the emergence of another killer could force her to reconsider just how different she really is.
New Faces Join the Cast
Purnell, known for her roles in Fallout and Yellowjackets, leads the returning cast as Rhiannon Lewis. Leah Harvey also returns as Marina Farrar, alongside Jon Pointing as Craig, Jeremy Swift as Norman, Ingrid Oliver as DI St John, Nitin Ganatra as Rory and Alexandra Dowling as Seren.
Season 2 introduces several new faces to the series, including Rish Shah as Gabriel, Rhiannon’s new romantic interest, and Tamsin Greig as Liv, the mother of AJ. Taj Atwal joins as Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss, while Jenny Walser plays Daisy, a new friend in her life. Annabelle Davis also joins the cast as Bella, who works in the police administration department.
Inspired by the cult novels of C.J. Skuse, Sweetpea is produced by See-Saw Films in association with Sky Studios. The series combines dark comedy and psychological thriller elements, exploring what happens when a woman who has spent her life being overlooked finally decides to fight back — with increasingly disturbing consequences.
With a dangerous new rival entering the picture and Marina closing in, Rhiannon’s attempts to maintain control may become more difficult than ever.
Sweetpea Season 2 premieres on Sky and NOW on November 26, 2026, with all episodes available to stream on launch day. The series is expected to arrive on Starz in early 2027.
