P!nk’s Highly Anticipated Album “Beautiful Trauma”

“Beautiful Trauma” is the highly awaited seventh studio album from America Pop/Punk singer Pink. It was released on October 13th through RCA records, and contains the highly successful first single “What About Us” which was released on August 10th. It was in June of this year when Pink confirmed she would be releasing a new studio album and that’s when the promotion for the single commenced. July 21st is when Pink shared a video from the set of an upcoming video, captioned: “Video #new #fyeah #itsallhappening”. The day after, she shared an animated version of the single artwork on social media, revealing the single’s title and release date.

“What About Us” became the lead single for the album “Beautiful Trauma” and reached number 1 in Australia also topping the US, UK and German charts. It marks Pinks third number one single in Germany, and received critical acclaim from many in the industry giving praise for highlighting political themes. At the beginning of October it was announced the second single would be “Revenge” which features rapper Eminem.

Once again Pink acquired the help of legendary and Grammy award winning pop producer Max Martin to continue with her roller coaster ride of success. Pink performed “What About Us” at the MTV Video Music Awards and with out a doubt stole the show, not for her performance but for her empowering speech she offered upon being given the Video Vanguard Award, which she used her daughter’s self-esteem issues as a launching pad for a artistic boldness of brilliance. On “Beautiful Trauma” like most of Pink’s albums there is a lot to get off her chest, and if you’re the slightest fan of confessional pop songwriting, you will be a fan of this emotional masterpiece. Pink is a fabulous singer, who’s strong husky voice constantly shifts dynamics to match whatever instrumental challenge is thrown at her.

Like always Pink brings a catalog of popular writers and producers to help her make a mark on the charts, with returning hit maker Max Martin and Shellback lending their skills on three tracks on the album, and also the likes of Jack Antonoff lend a hand, a man who’s behind the hits of Lorde and Taylor Swift. Greg Kurstin who wrote and produced Adele’s “Hello” makes a credit onto “Beautiful Trauma” as well as skillful writer Julia Michaels. Although there are a vast array of writers and producers who lend their help to the album you can’t look past Max Martin’s pop driven confectionery of delights that will automatically have you pressing the replay button. Max Martin has so many hits under his belt he could make a series of greatest hits albums.

“Revenge” the second single is a smash hit just waiting to happen. This will be the third time rap star Eminem has teamed up with Pink, and while it may seem like an unlikely pair they blend so well together on the song exchanging comic insults about alleged infidelities. For some reason I can’t help think this latest influx of Eminem appearing at the BET’s and now this single, there might be a comeback album in the works maybe? We can only hope I guess.

You don’t have to stretch your imagination very far when thinking about what holds for “Beautiful Trauma” If you’ve heard Pink’s previous albums then you will be a fan of this, as it continues her stories of spiritual and romantic crisis’s with lyrics like “I slashed your tyres” and “You punched a hole in the wall and I framed it”, Pink definitely doesn’t hold back. Expect edgy pop/punk hit’s to start flooding your TV and radio soon.

“Beautiful Trauma” is available on all music platforms now.
