New Albums From Deanna Devore and Jogee With A G

Chicago/Toronto based artist Deanna Devore has just released her highly anticipated new EP ‘Half And Half’, which is a collection of beautifully created down tempo electronic tracks. This gifted songwriter and producer has created an emotive album that blends a mixture of R&B, acoustic and jazz making for a perfect easy listening album.

‘Half And Half’ is a seven track EP that showcases Deanna’s incredible musical versatility, with half the record focusing on her electronic side, and the other half her charming acoustic singer-songwriter styling’s. Deanna spoke about this saying; “I’d like to be known for my versatility and love to write in various different genres, while still maintaining a consistency”.

“A Cause” is the lead single from the record, which features Deanna’s soulful vocals, backed by throbbing basslines, and a smoothe soundscape. The single highlights the singers love for electronic, house and jazz infused instrumentals.

Deanna has had a line of success opening for some big acts on the road including, jazz/pop heavyweight Jamie Cullum, electronic masterminds Bonobo and SG Lewis, as well as Lapalux, Kat Edmonson, fellow Canadians Basia Bulat, Calvin Love and Juno Award-winning Lights.

Deanna self-produced ‘Half And Half’ in her home studio in Toronto, as well as performing all the instruments herself, and hopes to encourage female artists to take the lead in their music; “I’d love to inspire other songwriters and other female multi-instrumentalist/producers. There aren’t many of us out there it seems, so I’d love to inspire more female musicians to self-produce.” Deanna said.

R&B artist Jogee With a G just released his debut album “Greenery”. Jogee spoke about the meaning behind the record’s title saying; “The album Greenery draws on play metaphors to symbolize growth and reaching maturity. I’ve always really liked plants and how they thrive under very specific conditions. Through my life I’ve always been moving around so I got to see that the same is true to humans and I wanted to portray that in the album.”

“Salmon” is the first single from the project, and displays his musical diversity perfectly, an artist who draws inspiration from jazz and contemporary R&B. His music conveys a lot of personal elements including themes of self-love, coming of age, and a quest to understand the world we live in. A great listen for any R&B lover.
