‘MihTy’ A Collection Of Intimate Songs From Ty Dolla $ign & Jeremih

After a few delays and much anticipation, R&B singers Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih have finally released their joint album entitled “MihTy”. This record is comprised of 11 songs, including previous efforts “The Light” and “Goin Thru Some Thangz”. There’s also the Lil Wayne-assisted “New Level”, which features a sample of “In My Bed” by Dru Hill, a group Jeremih has often cited as a major inspiration.

“MihTy” also contains features from Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa and French Montana, on this catalog of hits that promise to deliver provocative lines over hard-hitting production. Providing that such production is some heavy urban enthusiasts including Hitmaka, Machynist, Ayo & Keys and more.

Ty Dolla $ign has had a huge 2018 as one of hip hop’s most in-demand featured guests. His vocals have appeared on almost every release from Kanye’s camp this year, as well as on Drake’s “Scorpion” and Migos’ “Culture II”, but Mih-Ty marks his first full-length of 2018. Last year we saw his release the under rated project “Beach House 3”, and Jeremih’s most recent record was “The Chcolate Box” EP, which he released earlier this year.

These guys are the go to singers if you want a smooth, sultry R&B singer on your track, and now they’ve joined forces you can expect almost greatness from their album “MihTy”. R&B music today doesn’t quite have the impact on the charts like it used to, but if you weren’t privileged with living in that era, Ty and Jeremih will remind you from start to finish on this project.

My favorite song by far off the album has to be the final song “Imitate”, a song bound for the radio and the charts if it gets it’s own moment to shine. A blissful combination of smooth R&B and melodic pop, it’s the most fitting instrumentals to showcase the current trend and vibe we have in music to date from urban artists.

“The Light” was the first release from the record, it brings back that old school sound, yet the tracks vibe is very modern.  It also has this smooth yet clubby feel to it, with each artist featured flexing their vocal abilities by giving us something that is both passionate and romantic.

If you’re looking for the perfect album to bring you back to your old school R&B days, this is the perfect addition to your music collection. Jeremih sums it up perfectly when he told Power 106 “It’s just real feel-good R&B music.”
