INsiders Guide: Van Bellman, Bizou, The Great Escape

Via Billboard, artist Van Bellman releases his brand new single ‘Gold & Blue’. Bellman is best known for playing guitar with multi-platinum band American Authors, and he’s been getting a lot of buzz surrounding his new solo project. ‘Gold & Blue’ is a story of hope, faith and companionship in a world of turmoil and distractions. This anthemic single is sure to create a even bigger following for Van Bellman, and an even bigger success on the charts.

“I like that it’s a bit concrete and a bit abstract as far as what the colors or themes could represent,” Bellman said about the single. “For me, it’s a hopeful message of sticking together through bitter trials and tribulations, cutting through the noise of the modern world to really listen to someone.”

Los Angeles five piece rock band Bizou have dropped their highly anticipated single ‘Superstition’. The band consists of Marisa Prietto (lead vocal), Nicole Fiorentino (bass and backing vocs), Erin Tidwell (drums), Nicki Nevlin (guitar), Josiah Mazzaschi (guitar and programming) and they have individually had success in bands in Los Angeles the last decade. They have  played and backed such bands as The Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Tennis System, Wax Idols, Jennie Vee, and Light FM. Over the year they became friends through the music industry, and realized they wanted to be in a band together.

‘Superstition’ is a powerful rock’n’roll track, one that packs punch with it’s anthemic rock sounds. Prietto reveals, “I think a lot of our stuff treads that line of dark message/bright vibe. Our music straddles duality both sonically and thematically”.

‘Superstition’ is without a doubt going to catch the attention of the music world, so expect this up and coming band to, continue to rise.

The Great Escape have a new single just in time for the festive season called “Season of Love”.  If there’s one thing you need during the holiday season it’s Christmas cheer and this single delivers that. Featuring jingle bells, traditional brass instrumentation and uplifting contagious lyrics, it’s perfect for the whole family.

The song is available for a donation – these funds go towards St Joseph Centre (a non profit that helps homeless and low income families and individuals in the band’s hometown Venice Beach).
