INsiders Guide: Elohim, bülow, Sasha Hromyk and Saint Slumber

Los Angeles artist / producer Elohim has released the official videofor track “Flagpole Sitta” – a haunting cover of Harvey Danger’s 1997 classic, recorded as a collaboration with AWOLNATION.

The song comes from Elohim’s new Braindead EP, available everywhere now here. Describing the video, Elohim notes, “Aaron and I both grew up close to Malibu. It was special to film on film in a place that means so much to both of us. To me this video is nostalgic and a perfect representation of California summer dreams. I hope that it will transport you to that beautiful carefree place.”

The Braindead EP explores Elohim’s courageous struggle with mental health – a centerpiece of her artistry and songwriting since day 1. The release was timed with the month of May in support of Mental Health Awareness Month and Elohim donated 100% of the May proceeds from the EP to a selection ofcharities focusing on providing outreach and support for those suffering from mental health issues.

Elohim also released the official video for EP single “tv” here and she is also currently releasing an exclusive documentary series showcasing her struggles with mental health and resilience through her journey. Follow the full docu-series here.

This spring, Elohim debuted a stripped-back set with just her at a piano accompanied by a string quartet at a run of L.A. / NYC intimate shows. She followed with a N. American tour with blackbear which just wrapped and has also played festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle Hangout Fest, Governor’s Ball, and Global Dance Festival. She will perform next in New Orleans @ Voodoo Fest.

At the age of only 19, bülow has created an astounding body of work with her debut EP’s Damaged Vol. 1 and Damaged Vol. 2, which included the multi-platinum selling hit “Not A Love Song” that has generated over 50 million streams worldwide. Since then, bülow most recent release, “Two Punks in Love,” is climbing the Canadian radio charts and is on it’s way to breaking into the top 10.

A child of the globe, the bright-eyed Megan Bülow has grown up in five countries including Canada, Germany, the UK, the US, and recently graduated from high-school in The Netherlands. Her global presence won her the Roots ‘Sweat Style’ Fall 2018 campaign, as well as features in both Vogue UK and Billboard Magazine (to name a few). bülow’s most recent shows include her US tour with Fickle Friends and the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball in Toronto alongside the Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa, Alessia Cara, and more.

The multi platinum artist released a new video for the song, “Fine”. The track is off the singer-songwriters latest EP, Crystalline. The video features live concert footage from bülow’s shows in Asia where she supported Lauv on tour earlier this year. bülow will be back supporting Lauv for North American dates this fall, before then she’ll be taking the stage at Osheaga in Montreal and Lollapalooza in Chicago in early August.

Born Alexander Ryan Hromyk (Hur-Roe-Mik) and raised just outside of San Francisco, CA, singer-songwriter Sasha Hromyk was determined to succeed as an artist from a young age. Raised in a predominant Russian-American community, Hromyk began singing early on in school productions and church choirs. Uploading YouTube videos at the age of 14 garnered him attention from record labels and television shows alike. Influenced by 90s R&B acts like Boyz II Men, Aaliyah and Brandy as well as Gospel and European Pop/Soul, Hromyk began tuning his craft to these sounds.

Auditions with X Factor USA and The Voice soon followed. After several setbacks Hromyk finished school and obtained a Barber license from the state of Washington. Eventually becoming connected with the Nashville music scene – Hromyk released his debut EP “Brighter Paradigm” in 2018. Blending elements of 90s R&B and West Coast Pop, the 4-track EP was released internationally. It performed well on college radio charts in the US and Canada throughout the year. 2019 saw the release of the more soulfully infused “Tell Me”. A song crafted true to the sound of his roots.

Alt-Pop band,Saint Slumber new music video for the single “SLEEPTALK” is out now. “SLEEPTALK” is the second single off their new EP and last chapter of their trilogy, YOUTH//3, to be released August 16th. YOUTH//3will continue to tell the trilogy’s story of the trials, tribulations, growth and celebrations of the youth coming into their own. The EP also features the first single“Mantra” out now as well.

The band says, “We wanted to create a visual that mirrors the surreal feelings of being in a dream: hazy textures, otherworldly imagery, the jarring creepiness of seeing things where they aren’t supposed to be, the gentle ghosts of your past as they continue to tiptoe around in your mind,” the band say. “The ‘SLEEPTALK’ music video is particularly ambitious for us because we use characters, scenery and footage from past music videos to create an almost extended universe for all of the visuals in our YOUTH//Trilogy.”
