4 Brand New Singles, From 4 Pop Icons: Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Normani

Doja Cat dropped “Juicy” onto the deluxe version of her 2018 hit album Amala this year, and now she’s released a special remix version of the single featuring Tyga. T-Raww slides in as a perfect fit to rhyme alongside Doja with the tune already highlighting a steamy theme. The James Begert-directed clip is vividly colorful, as the artist dons various outfits to match all of her favorite fruits such as bananas, cherries, and watermelon. The video portrays a lot of sex appeal, and Tyga’s verse is the perfect accompaniment. The “Juicy” remix is out now.

Doja Cat isn’t the only pop star who released new music this week. Miley Cyrus dropped her own new song, “Slide Away,” which seems to address the end of her and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship for now. Cyrus and Hemsworth announced their separation on Saturday, but she hinted she was already in the studio recording music on her Twitter this week.

Cyrus wrote on her Instagram after their separation was announced that you can’t fight change. “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” she wrote. “Like the mountain I am standing on top of , which was once under water , connected with Africa , change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me “ Nature never hurries but it is always on time”…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own …. 💙”

Taylor Swift is another female powerhouse who’s released a brand new track this week. Taylor Swift has shared “Lover,” the title track from her next studio album. The new song marks the fourth single from Lover, following “ME!,” “You Need to Calm Down,” and “The Archer.” Lover, out August 23, will be Taylor’s seventh studio album and her first for new label Republic.

Normani is back with a whole heap of Motivationthat’s the name of her new single that was written by Ariana Grande. On the same night we got releases from Swift and Cyrus, Normani took her huge leap forward with the release of her debut. It comes as the follow-up to her hit collaboration with Sam Smith. The horizon looks bright for this ex-Harmonizer.
