INsiders Guide: Talii, SKo, Chin Injeti, The Man Who, Dayton James, Elodie Rêverie, broox, T. Thomason, Perpetuals

Orlando-based artist Talii has released a brand new single titled “Thickness.” A body-positive ode lined with sensual r&b production and melodic hooks galore, Talii told Wonderland, “The song was inspired by the desire to look and feel my best because my best self is what I wanted my significant other to have. The song embodies a sexy confidence that I hope encourages people to not only feel great about who they are right now but who they aspire to be.”

“Thickness” is the follow-up to earlier 2019 single “Front Seat,” which set the tone for a big year for Talii. Taking influences from her Trinidadian heritage, “Front Seat” embodies a meticulous blend of pop/r&b set against a rhythmic dancehall infusion.

The track saw praise from outlets like Billboard, who described the track’s “percussion-driven production that pitter-patters like beach waves” while Affinity Magazine called the track “a powerful and bold song that allows the Orlando-based artist’s true colors to shine through.” Talii is also seeing support from the artist community with Pink Sweat$ and JOHN.k both showing support for the track.

Skeleton Woman (aka SKo) debuts a haunting electro-pop sound on her new single, “Planes.” The Los Angeles singer-songwriter-producer is a music industry vet with a slew of accomplishments under her belt. You’ve heard her music in TV shows on MTV, VH1, and E!, while Billboard Magazine praised her songwriting credits. After navigating her way through the precarious ups and downs of the music industry in a band, where she experienced first hand the often abusive aspects of the male-dominated industry, she took a step back. When she returned to music, she was reborn from the ashes of her tragedy. Through that rebirth, she was inspired to create her solo project, Skeleton Woman (Sko), based on folklore about the circle of life. Now, she’s ready to show the world her empowering style of atmospheric, electro-pop.

On “Planes,” SKo explores three different phases of a past relationship. From the infatuation and courtship, where things are light and hopeful, she injects a sense of anticipation into her vocals. Eventually, the story grooves along to phase two, where the relationship grows intense and uncertain. You can feel the understated jazz influence alongside the psychedelic synthy pleasures, bumping and grinding with hushed ease. In the end, it all comes crashing down when she discovers he’s been untrue to her all along. The power of her vocals and the subtle melodic shifts of intensity turn the listening experience into a journey you want to hear again and again. SKo’s vocals are the star of the show, humming and undulating to the slow pulse of the rhythm. Be sure to check out SKo’s “Planes.”

“On My Own” is a song that I love, first & foremost. It takes me to a place tinged with the familiarity of the past, touched by the future, and grounded in the now. Recorded solely using vintage gear, it features the Mini Moog and Prophet 5, with drums programmed on the iconic Linn 9000.

I created this song for the listener who appreciates in equal parts the new, the old, and the obscure. The bassline is all ‘80s – dark but somehow hopeful, complemented by synth and drums full of momentum that’ll make you want to move. Stream “On My Own” through SOUNDCLOUD // SPOTIFY now.

With an eye on the year ahead, I look forward to working more on my new material from my forthcoming EP, stepping outside of my usual routine of making productions (Drake, Eminem, 50 Cent, P!nk) for other artists.

This is “On My Own” – turn up the volume, take it in, and dance!”—Chin Injeti

“Something comparable to our earlier music, but with just enough of something new.

Down” can be interpreted so many different ways that we like to leave it up to you, the listener, to interpret how you best see fit.

As a band, our three personalities are so different – but in the best way possible.

We all balance each other out. We can spend countless hours in some tiny rehearsal space or bedroom, just running ideas, trying things out, seeing what’s possible with the music. It’s more fun than anything else in the world.

Thanks so much for hearing us out!

We hope you enjoy, and can’t wait to give you more new music soon.”—The Man Who

Dayton James is real and unmanufactured, and you can hear that in his music – it’s raw, authentic and passionate, just like him.

A UK born and raised musician and wordsmith, Dayton James found from a young age that music was his passion. As a teenager, music was not always an outlet he could consistently rely on, as singing wasn’t deemed as ‘cool’. But, he was inevitably forced to embrace exactly who he is after a video that his mother uploaded on Youtube of him singing, surfaced, and made its way around his school. After a while, singing became very cool.

Fast forward a few years after travelling the world and writing a string of songs for other artists, including multi award winning, international artist Shaggy and signing a Publishing deal with Black Butter / Kobalt, Dayton James is now based out of Toronto and has set off on a new journey, this time writing his own story.

While away in Scotland with her family, Elodie Rêverie attended a songwriting retreat attended primarily by country artists. Inspired by their storytelling through song, Elodie was inspired to tell the tale of her ancestors heritage in Scotland. “Skeleton Castles” seeks closure in figuring out who you are, which is something that we may never do or feel. Elodie seeks answers while visiting the land of her ancestors, trying to figure out what this means and represents in her life. While the track is an upbeat melody of country twang and dance beats, the lyrics hold significant power and meaning to Elodie.

“Skeleton Castle” has already amassed nearly 30,000 streams on Spotify! Elodie is currently working on new singles that can be expected later this fall.

Delightfully blending R&B, electronica, and indie-pop, Brooklyn-based artist broox is sharing her latest genre-fluid project, a 2-track EP titled Over Easy.

Digging into the resonance of emotional melodies, synth-wave sensation and rhythmic movements, broox’s Over Easy is a feel-good listen stacked with soft, atmospheric beats, sultry R&B vocals, and intimate lyricism. Over Easy shows an evolution in broox’s artistry since her 2018 debut Out / Through, which she attributes to a newfound confidence in her more R&B-leaning sound. “I was very present while making this EP,” she says, “which I think is why it’s some of my best stuff yet. I was trying to channel my inner-self and creativity within this area in music I haven’t touched before. It was challenging but also exciting and made me curious to see what I can make of this.”

Created with producer Zach Ezzy, Over Easy’s two singles – “B T W L D” and “She’s Been Listening” – feel at home together while still standing apart as strong releases in their own right. “B T W L D” is about showing love to someone you care deeply for, while “She’s Been Listening” is what broox calls “a song for the outcasts, the weirdos, the ones who got picked on when they were young but didn’t fall into the peer pressure of fitting in.” The tracks tackle two different parts of the human experience but both are richly therapeutic and emotionally captivating for the artist and listener.

Brooklyn-based broox creates music to make you feel. With lyrics that revolve around her experience as a young, queer woman in 2019, broox’s music carves out a safe space for listeners to find solace. Since her 2018 debut, broox has already gained 380K+ Spotify streams and press support from the likes of We Found New Music, Qweerist, and Go Magazine (100 Women We Love: Class of 2018 feature).

With over a decade of experience in the music industry, multiple award nominations, and national recognition at just 24 years old, T. Thomason is a force to be reckoned with in the Canadian music scene.

After 3 albums released between the ages of 14 – 19, T. took a year away from music to begin testosterone hormone therapy and relearn his singing voice, changing his name and pronouns along the way. In 2016, after releasing his EP, sweet baby, T. and producer Dave Henriques (Justin Nozuka / Iskwé) embarked on a new collaborative journey developing the fresh pop sound Thomason has become known for as he prepares to release his first full-length record as T. Thomason, appropriately – self-titled. The album’s first two singles “Bliss” and “Loser” have together earned over 200k Spotify streams.

The 2019 lead up to T.’s album release has been a roller coaster ride. From winning an episode of CTV’s hit music reality TV show, The Launch, and appearing alongside mentors Scott Borchetta, Marie-Mai, Sarah McLachlan, and Alex Hope, to having his launched single “HOPE” reach #4 on the Canadian iTunes Pop chart and #11 overall, crack Canadian Top 40 Radio, and land T. on stages such as the Bell Centre and Parliament Hill on Canada Day, Thomason is more than ready to dive deeper into his story with fans old and new.

T.’s next single, “Birdsong”, is an introduction to the journey of T. Thomason. The album was recorded over the past 4 years – the most intense period of change and growth in Thomason’s young life. This upcoming release is deeply vulnerable and honest – a must hear for anyone who has ever wondered who they are and what is to come.
