Or to find out that one roommate you found off craigslist has been stealing your things and then helping you look for it. The message to me is really localized in that moment of “seeing the light” and realizing your gut was never wrong.”

The track is taken from the Italo-Brazilian industrial / post-punk duo’s upcoming second album ‘NaN’, which is confirmed for release on 20th May 2022, via Stock-A Productions.

The follow-up to recent single “Fog”, new single “Eremita” is a transportative ballad in 5/4, with downbeat and sensual fusions of lo-fi glitches and acoustic instrumentation that nod towards the classic trip-hop sound.

With its lyrics softly-sung in a hushed Italian dialect, the track explores a one-way conversation with an egotistical protagonist. As Tina of Hate Moss says:

“It’s a hypothetical dialogue with an interlocutor whose only interest is to assert one’s opinion on others, the voices at times distant and at times incredibly close join the guitars and samples.”

Bringing to mind the broodingly intense works of Dead Can Dance or Liars, crossed with the philosophical songwriting of De André and Tom Zé, it’s a twitchingly paranoid and quietly exhilarating hint of what to expect on new album ‘NaN’.

Queer NYC artist, writer and producer April Rose Gabrielli returns with “Bad Habit (Don’t Make Me Bad)” – the follow-up to her official debut single, released in collaboration with AWAL, BMG & Soho Records.

Breaking through into the alt-rock scene with her anthemic sound, Gabrielli’s latest track is one of female empowerment which exposes the double standards women face while dating. The piano ballad turned dark rock epic explodes with blazing energy, as Gabrielli’s impassioned lyrics roar through her depiction of a torrid romance. Packed with emotional highs and lows, crescendoing guitar solos and roaring vocals, “Bad Habit (Don’t Make Me Bad)” is an exciting example of how to do classic rock with edge.

Speaking about “Bad Habit (Don’t Make Me Bad)”, Gabrielli describes: “I wrote and produced “Bad Habit (Don’t Make Me Bad)” while in an on-again, off-again relationship. I would end things to ‘make it all better,’ but they kept coming back to me and they would make me feel like I was the problem. They couldn’t resist, it became my fault; I couldn’t resist, I blamed them for it, too. We became each other’s ‘bad habit’, but I kept trying to prove that it didn’t make us bad people for just trying to figure things out. Self-acceptance and acceptance of the situations we are in and the journey we are on, is key to finding peace; in releasing “Bad Habit (Don’t Make Me Bad)” I hope to express just that”

London-based songwriter Isaac Stuart releases “Cut Me Down.” The song can safely fit into your collection of feel-good songs for when you need a pick-me-up.  You can hear ‘Cut Me Down’ played live across three headline dates starting today and culminating at London’s Omeara on February 23rd.

Fast becoming known for his storytelling, Cut Me Down breaks down the events of a night when good friendship in Isaac’s life was needed most.  Speaking about the song, Isaac explains “All it takes is one friend, someone you truly love and trust, to put their arm around you and say ‘you know what, everything is going to be alright.’ I wrote Cut Me Down as a reflection on times when I could sense myself floating away aimlessly, with my head in the clouds. This song is a celebration of going through those times, and a thank you to the friends who help us.”

Succeeding the release of Years & Years UK #1 album Night Call, “Hallucination” is an unapologetically shimmering dancefloor banger that follows the tribulations of an unwanted lustful old flame. Indulging in a soundscape of 80s inspired synth-pop and a driving four to the floor rhythm section, “Hallucination” is elevated by the all-inspiring sultry vocals of Years & Years’ Olly Alexander as he sings…

“Don’t try to impress meI know you’re intending to hurt me againYou look like a visionBut now I’m beginning to see through the haze”

On the new single, Regard says: “I loved working with Years & Years on this new single. Olly’s voice brings the song to life and really captures the idea that the beauty of love is so similar to the fear of hallucinations”

LINDSEY ROSE BLACKClutch• Debut track and video from Lindsey Rose Black, “Clutch”, features smoky vocals and a raw, avant-indie pop sound.• This track is part of Lindsey’s upcoming debut EP, SUBTERRA (releasing in June).• This track is all about “recognizing a relationship is doomed, but desperately clinging to it for one more hit of pleasure before heartbreak’s inevitable gut punch.” Lindsey partnered with producers John Velasquez (Zella Day, Ella Vos) and Matthew Frazier (Local Natives) to traverse the wild, disorienting terrain of loss in this track.

Regarding the album, Elephante commented, Heavy Glow is about identity. It’s about coming to terms with who you are compared to who everyone else sees you as or expects you to be. “Heavy Glow” became a metaphor for the part of you that shines through in the nighttime, and can be hard for other people to really see. It can feel like a huge weight on your shoulders, but ultimately defines who you are.”Elephante recently announced his 19-date ‘Heavy Glow Tour’, which kicks off in Sacramento on March 3rd and includes shows at Webster Hall in New York and The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, with stops in Atlanta, Boston, ChicagoDenver, and San Francisco, concluding June 11th in Portland, with support from yetepHoangnø11, and Sabi. The multi-faceted artist, producer, entertainer, and performer, will hit the road with a new perspective and spectacle that weaves his love for DJing live and playing guitar with stunning, dynamic visuals and effects. This high-energy hybrid performance will visually and audibly tell Elephante’s personal story of embracing his Asian-American identity and taking chances.

Quickly gaining the reputation of being a fearless musical warrior who marches to the beat of her own drum – or in this case, her keyboard, Sheenah hopes “Wake Up” will encourage people to get out of their comfort zones. While not denying the song is a contemplative reflection of the times, she believes it also embodies a greater, more urgent message.

“The song isn’t directed at anyone or any group as much as it’s just a general call to people to open their eyes and fight the good fight. I’ve been consistently impressed with the social advocacy being mounted by the youth of today. I really kind of feel as though “Gen Z” truly ‘gets it’ and are just so fed up with the status quo that this is how they’re going about trying to effect change,” she says.

Driven by an irrepressible beat, Sheenah hopes “Wake Up” serves as definitive inspiration for the modern, surreal times we’re living in.

“No one should go through life feeling as though they’re a robot, and that’s something I feel has been exacerbated by the upheaval of the past few years. With so many people working at home, the lines between someone’s work life and personal life have become blurred. ‘Wake Up’ is a reminder to ensure you’re having some fun.”

Emerging LA based newcomers TEMPOH Slow continue to build their growing buzz with the reveal of stellar new offering, TALK 2 MUCH.  Comprising of  Nicholas Suhr ( long time drummer of K-Flay)  and Nick Spreigl (formerly with The Wind and the Wave and Cray),  TEMPOH Slow became the anchor for their lives while Los Angeles and its music scene lay vacant due to Covid and the uncertainty of live music.  Aggressively emotive, visceral and uncompromising, they revel in being musical shapeshifters averse to genres.  Speaking on the track, they state:

TALK 2 MUCH is very much a love song.  It’s about that moment when 2 people split and you can beg and beg, but that only makes it worse for both parties. Too many texts and calls make everything messy. I wrote this fresh out of a relationship with someone I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I’m fine now, but at the time I was crushed. The video definitely showcases a more playful side of the project.  We think it is really cool existing in different spaces and our hope is that this shows we’re not always serious….or ever really are…lol.  We shot this with Riley and Drew at Perpetual, those are our boys!  It’s best working with other artists.  They understood how we wanted to present the song, and made us feel comfy & cozy on camera.

Ushering in Monstercat’s first album release of 2022, globally renowned producer and DJ Slushii today revealed his 14-track masterpiece, ‘E.L.E (Extinction Level Event)’. Three years in the making, E.L.E sees Slushii reimagine his dubstep roots with trap-inspired beats, melodic bass, and a futuristic pop-fueled edge. From “ICE” with Rickyxsan to “ACID HAUS” with Trilla, it’s a collection of his most boundary-pushing sounds from the very beginning of his meteoric rise. Today’s breakout single, “Carousel” features award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, Kiesza, offering her earworm vocals on the synth-laden adrenaline ride.
Also featured on the package is Slushii’s most-streamed single to date, “All I Need” which peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Chart after debuting in his epic Fortnite virtual concert. Slushii has continued to be a pioneering artist in the gaming space with multiple syncs in Rocket League and a custom skin tracked to “Valhalla” in SMITE. Growing up with the challenges of Asperger Syndrome, the gaming community became his safe space where he could disconnect and be himself. Beyond his impact as a musician, he’s also become a champion for kids that share his experience and finally feel seen.
‘E.L.E’ is largely inspired by Slushii’s deep-rooted passion for Anime and Japanese culture, evident in the album and singles artwork, as well as the characters that make up the E.L.E storyline. He’ll take his audiovisual universe on the E.R.U. spring tour across the US, with stops at Ultra Music Festival, NY’s Marquee, LA’s Academy, and more iconic venues. Tickets are available here.

As a teen, Ben Sefton’s budding love of songwriting quickly developed into an obsession, fueling the creation of hundreds of unreleased songs. Driven by his deep love of earworm pop melodies and a passion for candid lyrical witticism and word play, he has effectively created a style all of his own. Backed by hours of focused guitar practice, Sefton matches his ceaseless song creation with considerable vocal and instrumental prowess.

New single, “Harrison,” is an indignant attempt at turning the private pain of a teenage misanthrope into an anthem. Sefton creates a tone of pure relatability that will bring listeners back to the days of heavy backpacks, rampant acne and unbearable anxiety. The video takes those ideas and plants them firmly through the lens of a John Hughes 80s film.

Singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Eddie Benjamin introduces his upcoming debut album with new single, “Weatherman.” A defiant call for optimism in troubling times, the Australian newcomer imbues his message of hope with old-school soul and irresistible pop hooks. Listen HERE via Vol. 1 Records/Epic Records.

The addictive track also arrives alongside a colorful videowhich made its broadcast premiere today via an MTV First Look, airing at the top of every music hour on MTV Live, MTVU, and MTV Biggest Pop, and simultaneously via a Nickelodeon Music premiere. Watch it HERE. Starting tonight in San DiegoCAEddie will also be joining Justin Bieber for the Justice arena tour.

Over lilting keys, Eddie begins “Weatherman” with a plea for brighter days. “Go tell the weatherman I said, I want it sunny outside today,” he sings. While the tone is uplifting, Eddie penned the song while battling anxiety. “I felt out of control and didn’t know what to do,” the 20 year old tells Rolling Stone. “I couldn’t help how I felt, and it summed up all these extremities in a really vulnerable way. You’re talking to yourself, asking for a sunny day.” With its confessional lyrics and heady blend of soul, jazz, and pop, “Weatherman” combines his many influences for a sound that feels classic yet uniquely his. “I’d like to expose this generation to timeless songcraft in a contemporary way,” he says.

Weatherman” is accompanied by a striking video, which highlights the rising star’s whimsical nature and love of all things classic. Colorful, cryptic, and full of mysterious figures, it’s a surreal, rich video that suits the depth and character of the track. Directed by Tyler Yee [Lana Del Rey, G-Eazy], it adds yet another dimension to the richness of his textured sophistipop—upbeat yet complex, familiar yet new.

Alongside the release, Eddie joins Justin Bieber’s Justice World Tour, which kicks off tonight in San Diego, CA, an appropriate fit for a pop visionary in his own right. The tour, which also includes JadenHarry Hudson, and ¿Téo?, will traverse the US and Canada. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, while the tour routing can be found below.

This new single follows Eddie Benjamin’s 2021 debut EP, Emotional, which earned praise from tastemakers and critics alike. Over the past year, Eddie has been profiled and featured by publications like Interview, GQ Australia, Paper, Flaunt, WWDGOAT/The GreatestOnes To Watchand more, while he has covered magazines like Wonderland., BASIC, and Harper’s BAZAAR SGPeople Magazine called him a 2021 artist to watch, exclaiming that Eddie “will leave you ‘Speechless’.” It’s not hard to see why.

Now, with “Weatherman” he’s showing that his boundary-pushing pop songwriting has even more hidden depth. He’ll no doubt explore that further as he prepares his first full-length, which is set to show off all the colors and vibrant textures of his work.

Imogen Mahdavi may have grown up in humble beginnings, but the East Londoners music has been her escape into an optimistic future with her bright sound. Her poetic songwriting is deeply connected to the feelings ‘we’ve all experienced and haven’t found the words to say out loud’ accompanied by a voice that is something truly unique.

Her soothing calm tone is both self-assured and easy to drift the night away with romanticism. Against the backdrop of soaring harmonies, the dream pop singer has found her own lane carving a sound that is both sensual, strong, and incredibly original. In a new age of uplifting inclusivity Imogen is confidently blending her Iranian heritage into western pop, drawing on dream-like vocal runs, riffs, and horns.

“Late Night Calls” is sensual, vulnerable and sexy. Revolving around heartbreak, the track is brooding and seductive, yet uplifted with unexpected sonics compelling you to dance, with Mahdavi revealing, “In some ways I think I needed to cry it out and dance it out at the same time”. She continues, “It all felt so painful to write and yet all this energy came out in the songs. It’s like my mind didn’t know where I needed to be but my heart knew in a few months of healing I would want to dance and scream and smile again. I just trusted the process.”

Without making any artistic compromises and featuring bold and sexy live horns, Mahdavi expresses, “This is a really exciting era for me. It feels like the start of the artist I’ve been searching to become. Late Night Calls is my first real heartbreak record. I’ve always written about my relationship with myself, my loved ones, and happy romantic memories, but this year tested me. It’s about watching the person you love, moving on with someone new, literally a nightmare of happiness in front of me.”

Imogen has had tastemaker support from the likes of Official Spotify and APPLE editorial playlisting, BBC radio, USA radio, as well as publications like Clash, i-D, Earmilk and Wonderland Magazine.

Alberta-based Nigerian-Canadian Ọlá has been pursuing music professionally since 2018 under different monikers (past lives) and has chosen to reclaim his true name Ọláwálé, Ọlá for short. His first creation as Ọlá is the genre-bending avant-pop/R&B single ‘Back To Harmony’ out today on all digital streaming platforms. Listen hereỌlá wrote, performed and produced his new single ‘Back To Harmony’ and the track was mixed and mastered by DOPE ROAD (Kaye Fox & Marvin Hollie), who have credits and/or experience working with Kanye West, J Cole, Nas, Chrisette Michelle, Big Sean, Post Malone, Swae Lee and more. The song carries the message of addressing the current inequalities in building generational care for one another and for the planet, but it’s also about Ọlá’s personal journey leading to the reclamation of his name.“I had to grow up too fast, constantly expected to take care of everyone else first while socially rejected, so there was a lot of grief there,” says Ọlá. “My Blackness was trauma, and although there has been some pushback, ‘Back To Harmony’ is me choosing to be more than that and make myself a priority. I have become hyper-independent, which I am working on healing.”

Light was inspired by a period in my life when I was reflecting on my mortality and how I fit into the world. I wondered whether or not I would die with a heart full of love and passion, when the journey can sometimes leave me feeling broken down and defeated.

You can hear “Light (feat. Joel Jovan)” on your favourite streaming platform and watch the official music video.

I hear it when you call for me / From beyond a world that’s darkening 🕯️

It was such a great experience to collaborate with Joel from Being As An Ocean, since I have been a fan of theirs for such a long time. Joel’s skill as both a vocalist and a lyricist really elevated the track to the level I knew he could. He’s a true craftsman and I learned a lot from working with him on this song.

The music video is about me exploring my own consciousness, walking through different rooms that were manifestations of different parts of my mind, such as feelings of being trapped and isolated, exposure to violence and chaos, dancing with desire and material possession – all the while a taunting and persuasive demon (the Ego) tries to use fear to dissuade me from finding the light in my life again.

Rising artist grentperez unveils his delightful video for latest single ‘Why I Love You’

Watch the video HERE

After making waves and winning hearts over the last year with his flawless vocals, musical charisma and timeless sound, grentperez has released his debut EP ‘Conversations With The Moon’ and it’s really something.

Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.

Listen to the EP in full HERE

A self confessed hopeless romantic, 20 year old grentperez has mastered the art of depicting matters of the heart with his intricate songwriting and swooning melodies. Why I Love You comes as the next installment and it looks to be his biggest moment yet. Sharing more, grentperez explained: Why I Love you is a song about a relationship that seems too chaotic for its own good, but somehow just works. This song really brings out the perfect imperfections within a relationship, talking about the inconvenience and moodiness that this person brings, but you ultimately love those factors because that’s what makes them who they are.  On top of that, to me makes the relationship that much more fun.”

Glasgow’s self-proclaimed “laptop-rock” duo MEMES are back with the chaotic new single: “Second Thought”.

Never a band afraid to think outside the box, their latest cut finds them embracing those most dangerous of thoughts we all have ticking away at the back of the mind…

“I know I said we’d tie the knot. But now I’ve had a second thought. That we could make a life and what-not. But now I’ve had a second thought… outbursts John McLinden here.
Reevaluating everything from relationships to career choices, “Second Thought” flickers relentlessly through our thoughts, from the epiphanous to the ridiculous, with a machine-gun like intensity. Think you can pick your favourite Knight of the Round Table? Perhaps it’s time to think again on that too…
Coupling an erratic agit-punk electricity to a boiling-point bassline, in “Second Thought” MEMES add to their arsenal an anti-anthem as tempestuous as a tantrum; as paranoid as it is unpredictable. Delving into the new single, John says:
“I’ve often wondered what people are really thinking when I talk to them. Behind the mask and the measured words. So, I started imagining these cartoon conversations where involuntary thought bubbles would appear above people’s heads as they spoke, betraying what they truly thought. That’s what gave birth to the song”.

The feverish follow-up to the Autumn’s equally outlandish “Heavy Night”, “Second Thought” arrives as the latest sample of an upcoming E.P. produced by Darwin Deez; confirmed for release later this year.

After a much-deserved break, the rising British-Asian queer creative Seeva makes a
stunning return with his new single “Twenty-Two” – the first from his forthcoming new
EP, released independently via AWAL.
In this thoughtful, heart-wrenching journey of a breakup, Seeva’s painfully honest
and introspective lyrics reflect upon the intimate moments of a relationship and its
subsequent break-down. His airy vocals in the breezy yet haunting acoustic-pop
track dive into love, loss, and heartbreak from a queer British-Asian person’s
perspective.
The heart-breaking video beautifully contrasts everyday memories of a relationship
with intense, dramatic scenes of confrontation and breakdowns, showing that the
everyday moments we sometimes take for granted end up becoming the most
special moments after all. Depicting queer love in a gorgeously cinematic setting

against a breath-taking backdrop of London’s skyline at sunset, “Twenty-Two” is sure
to resonant with Seeva’s growing fanbase of queer creatives and beyond. The filmic
storytelling and daydreamy visuals add to what is a deeply personal story – inviting
us to connect with the song on a much more emotional level.
Speaking of “Twenty-Two”, Seeva made the following statement: “The song for me is
a great intro to the Afterthoughts EP as a whole. It’s all about being innocent and
naïve in young love and being forced to grow up when it inevitably doesn’t work out.
At the forefront, though, it confronts some issues that I think are pretty unique to
being queer – wearing the same clothes, comparing yourself to your partner (I never
asked you why you hold me tighter when I look like the man you hoped you could
be). But I think there are lyrics that I hope anyone could connect to if they’ve learnt
the hard way that love isn’t like it is in the movies.”

New York City, singer, songwriter, Jake Lancer encapsulates the art of storytelling, the nostalgia of pop music, and the vitality of the New York City club kid scene in his debut EP as a solo artist.

His forthcoming project Take Off!, explores the defiance of his own fears, love, trauma, and joy, using his life’s stories as a canvas to create a compilation of tracks that serve as one singular function. Jake Lancer’s first single, Feel Your Love, is an exploration of sexuality, the timeless nature of pop music, and Lancer’s longing for affection. Lancer’s cry for help becomes a celebration for the universal desire for love and intimacy. Another notable track on TAKE OFF!, is Paris a 90’s inspired dance ballad that tells a story of having to say goodbye to a lover who is moving to Paris. Lyrically the song explores Jake’s internal monologue, not wanting to be selfish in keeping his lover in New York City while the track sonically pays references to some of the greats, like Whitney Houston to other artists like Big Wild and Years and Years. The last track on Take Off!, is Tomorrowland being the epic finale to what was an intense love affair, yet another reason to dance!

Jake Lancer’s influences range from artists like Lady Gaga, Abba, David Bowie, to Troye Sivan. Growing up closeted yet a part of the LGBTQIA community, Jake dreamed of creating pop music that not only inspired but could give a voice to anyone on their own healing journey. Swedish indie kids Tribe Friday return with a new single that takes their most ambitious shot at world domination (or Eurovision domination at the least) yet. “shut me up” harnesses the energy of a young crush and kicks it up an extra level through its songwriting genesis in a late-night caffeine-fueled kitchen jam at the band’s shared home in the woods of central Sweden. The result is a teen symphony of crunchy chords, bouncy bass, and dead on drums that lay a bedrock for one of singer Noah Deutschmann‘s most playful vocal deliveries. The track receives an extra sonic punch thanks to the mixing prowess of studio legend Joe Zook (Modest Mouse + Weezer).

Roni Bar Hadas is a singer-songwriter based in Tel Aviv. After years of playing with various bands, she burst onto the scene with her debut album Calm the Beast last November, winning acclaim across the globe.

Roni Bar Hadas’ new piece “Fear,” explores themes of self-love and healing, blends pop, soul and alternative R&B music, and is produced by her partner Maor Alush.
