Selena Gomez Developing ‘Sixteen Candles’ Reboot Series At Peacock

Singer and actress Selena Gomez is currently in the process of developing a Latina-led comedy series titled ’15 Candles’ for streaming service Peacock, described as a “reconfiguration” of the hugely popular 80’s film Sixteen Candles. Gomez is teaming up with Tanya Saracho and Gabriela Revilla Lugo to create the series.

“It follows four young Latinas starting high school as they overcome their feelings of invisibility while exploring what it means to leave childhood behind through the lens of the traditional female coming-of-age rite: the quinceañera,” reads the synopsis.
