Bri Oglu is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and cinematic pop artist. Her love for singing and music of almost any genre under the sun shone through from a young age and carries into her work today as she possesses the ability to create versatile songs that showcase the varying textures of her voice and her multiple influences from her youth.

Bri’s childhood was suspended between two musical worlds: her mother’s midwestern roots of country and pop, and her father and adoptive mother’s love of classic rock, 80s music, and jazz. She spent her younger years writing songs and emulating the artists she heard on the radio and around the house: Ann Wilson (Heart), Britney Spears, Shania Twain and Dido to name a few. In high school, she joined chorus, theatre and a local gospel choir. She fell in love with the visceral sounds of Idina Menzel as well as a high school sweetheart who introduced her to metal and alt-rock.

After school, she moved to Los Angeles to initially pursue acting due to the intimidating, robust nature of the music scene. While working at a karaoke bar and gigging around town, she was exposed to jazz and soul music, adding the final ingredient to her diversely influenced sound. Her path led her back to her ultimate passion in music, and she has continued to pursue her career as an artist ever since. When venues shut down during the pandemic, Bri focused on writing and recording her 6-track EP, Somewhere Else. The collection showcases her sultry, but powerful voice and pairs with a cinematic pop production style crafted by artist / producer Will Snyder. Her EP is set to release on December 1, 2022. On 2nd December 2022, Manchester indie-pop band VALA round off the year with their final single from their upcoming EP, “Don’t Think Twice (It’s Not Alright)” along with their biggest headline show ever at Manchester’s iconic The Deaf Institute. The band will be joined by two amazing supports for their VALA and Friends headline show with tickets at only £5 and selling fast. Guest list spots and press passes are available for this show so please get in touch.

With a genre-crossing sound, VALA, are a fusion of indie rock and pop, incorporating melodic hooks and smooth guitar riffs which has seen them likened to indie giants like The Strokes.  So it’s no wonder legendary producer of the bands first two albums, Gordon Raphael, took an interest in the band and helped guide them on this record. Their latest single sees the band bring a huge poppy chorus paired with their signature lo-fi guitar sounds resulting in one of the catchiest songs of the year.

BRE’S empowering lyrics, ear-worm melodies, and powerfully unique production makes her a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Bre Podgorski, known professionally as BRE, is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer, and performer. In 2012 at 16 years old, she released her debut album under the stage name ‘Breanna Lynn’. Since then, she has released six bodies of work under multiple projects, including two more EPs, a live album, and 3 singles under Breanna Lynn, an album with her band Bre-L, established in 2014, a self-produced album under Bre-L, and is currently working on her debut singles under the name BRE.

BRE has enjoyed not only significant streaming success, with Bre-L’s cover of Grimes’ song “Oblivion” hitting over 2 million plays on Spotify with the band achieving almost 5,000 monthly listeners, but also a thriving career on the stage. Alongside her artistic pursuits, BRE works as a professional dueling piano bar player, bringing her high-energy, interactive performance style to stages all over the world.

BRE’s writing style has evolved over the decade she has worked as an artist, starting in country pop, moving to mainstream pop, then alternative rock, singer-songwriter, pop/funk, to now alt/avant pop under her new project. Described as ‘synth with soul’, BRE’s work is a mix of the crooning melodies of Florence and the Machine, and the dark synth/electronic influences of artists like Grimes, Sevdaliza, and Banks. The theme throughout her discography is centered around empowerment, self-awareness, and hope, as she uses her music as a reflection of her own personal growth.

Ten years in the making, BRE is only just getting started, bringing her unique production skills, her undeniable stage presence, and her powerhouse voice to the world.

Los Angeles-based music collective, Peach Tree Rascals release their new song, “Yesterday” Get it HERE via 10K Projects.

The vulnerable new single brings the group back to the basics as they start to rediscover their close creative bond. By surrounding themselves completely in nature, they were able to free themselves from the noise of the outside world. Being so remote allowed them to dive deep into a vulnerable state so that they can introspectively re-evaluate their emotions and feelings on relationships. Ultimately, they continue to ponder the question: “if it was the end of time, are you in a place of love and happiness?”

The guys add:

“We wrote the song in Tarrek’s little cabin in the woods. Being surrounded by nature & your best friends you just feel more inclined to just let your mind be present. It was the perfect time & setting to be vulnerable with what we were making. And the song is about creating that same feeling of freedom and vulnerability with the person you love no matter what is going on around you.”

Continuing to prove his potential and cement his superstar status, breakout rapper JELEEL! teams up with Denzel Curry on his new single “SHOTS!”

Get it HERE via 10K Projects.

“’SHOTS!’ is such an important song to me because I feel like it’s an elevated version of a lot of my harder and aggressive type songs, and obviously Denzel just made it that much more special,” says JELEEL! We were jumping on couches having so much fun making this in the studio. We are such a great combo on the track, and I’m just super proud of this record.”

Making headlines for his high energy, dynamic live shows, JELEEL! continued to create buzz with a performance at Wunderworld Fest this past weekend, receiving recognition from the likes of Anderson .Paak and Dvdds for his one-of-a-kind set that went viral as he bicep-curled fellow performer ericdoa. The appearance follows a multitude of equally compelling performances at Rolling Loud New YorkMade In America and Rolling Loud Miami, and arrives as the rising superstar also got announced on the lineup for Rolling Loud Los Angeles 2023 earlier this week.

JELEEL!’s undeniablemomentum shows no signs of slowing down. After being named a Best New Artist by Pigeons & Planesand receiving praise from the likes of Complex, XXL, The FADER and HotNewHipHop, the Rhode-Island born Nigerian rapper continues to break boundaries, proving himself as a major force in the music industry. Between his dynamic tracks and the vibrant personality, he’s quickly grown an avid fanbase of over 1.9 million TikTok followers200K Instagram followers and over 2 million monthly Spotify listeners.

After buzzing to the forefront of the game internationally with over 100 million streams and widespread tastemaker chatter, New Zealand phonk-rap phenomenon and sought-after producer Sxmpra unleashes a monster new single entitled “GODZILLA” today. It officially marks his debut for 10K Projects.

Listen to “GODZILLA”HERE.

The song’s glitchy keys pulsate through an anxious beat as he charges forward with a pummeling flow. He tears right through the production with the hook, “Fuck with me, bitch imma go Godzilla. Breathing fire, the track illuminates his uncanny power to fuse searing screams and incisive rhymes over a tense phonked-up trap-style soundscape.

Following on the heels of his recent single “Faded Love,” indie-pop singer and songwriter Cade Hoppe returns today with his new single/video, “Past Time.”

Opening with simplistic keys before livening with glittery synths and anthemic percussion, “Past Time” is an instantly catchy track. “‘Past Time’ is about relationship nostalgia and the selective memory that comes with it—in this case, not only are you positively selective in your memory, but you’re really hoping your ex is not being negatively selective,” says Cade. “Being stuck in the past can be a dangerous drug.” Cade co-produced the track with his frequent collaborator Harper James (Eighty Ninety, James Bay, Aaron Taos).

Cade broke out in 2021 with the release of his debut EP, ‘Tell Me How It’s Worth It.’ He quickly followed it up with his sophomore effort, ‘Everything That’s Wrong with You,’ in Spring 2022. His discography is a continually unfolding process that evolves with confidence and clarity with each new release. With his steadfast determination and undeniable talent, Cade is well on his way to becoming an indie-pop mainstay.

Singer, dancer and creator Jordi reveals her debut single, “Hate You,” out on all streaming platforms today.

Hailing from Myrtle Beach, 19-year-old Jordi has spent most of her youth writing songs, dancing in studios, performing on stages across the US and creating online content that has earned her a dedicated fanbase. Her stunning covers, captivating vocals and creative online content have drawn over 12 million followers across social platforms.

“Hate You” is a beautiful piano-led pop ballad that introduces Jordi’s introspective songwriting and standout vocals to a wider audience. For her debut, Jordi collaborated with songwriters Riley Biederer (Nessa Barrett, Echosmith) and Nate Cyphert (Carly Rae Jepson, Hayley Kiyoko, Keith Urban) and producers Rob Grimaldi (BTS, Noah Cyrus, BLACKPINK) and Leo Mellace (jxdn, Nessa Barrett).

“When I wrote this song, I remember having to be honest with my most-vulnerable self,” says Jordi. “I know a lot of people are going through the same thing, so I hope the song embodies the emotions of still loving someone that hurt you.”

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo, Jordi blends story-driven lyricism with fresh pop sounds. Having grown with her followers over four years, Jordi speaks to the understated commonalities and interests of her generation like romance, heartbreak, and adventure – and her fans are listening.

With over 30 million global streams and 7 million social followers, 20-year-old singer-songwriter Thomas Day is back to share his next single & video, “The End,” out on Arista Records.

Opening with gentle guitar strumming and Thomas’ captivating vocals, the song soars towards an explosive chorus. “The End” spreads a heart-wrenching yet powerful message about not giving up, even when the pain feels overwhelming.

“This song is definitely the most emotional I’ve released so far and this was actually the first time I’d ever cried while I was recording a song,” says Thomas. “The ending of anything is my biggest fear. I hate change, I’ll do anything to fight for keeping things the same, which is kind of hypocritical because I broke up with a girl I’m in love with. This song is a fight for everything to be ok, but even if it isn’t, knowing it will be ok in the end.”

The music video for “The End” was directed by Brenton Giesey, a Nashville-based visual artist who worked with Thomas on his last two music videos, “Wildflower” and “not my job anymore.” Thomas elaborates on the visual concept: “The water described my emotions towards the entire concept of the video, and emotionally allowed me to get into it, which I knew I needed to do with this song. It was really fun too.”

Brooklyn M.V.P. Lola Brooke unleashes her highly anticipated track “Here I Come” [via Team Eighty Productions] with a tenaciously tantalizing accompanying official music video available to watch HERE. The call-to-action music release dominates with a chant-like hook forewarning audiences of Lola’s reign that spectators have yet to experience the full range of. The no holds barred track was first teased by Lola via social media resulting in thousands of mentions and attests to the track’s eagerly awaited status.

On the heels of today’s latest music offering from the flourishing Rap phenom, Lola’s hit “Don’t Play With It” continues to rise to the forefront gaining traction across all music-leaning channels. Within the past month solely, the base-knocking single has amassed 4 + million streams for the static audio. Elsewhere, the track garnered over 300 + thousand TikTok video creations, peaked at #9 on TikTok Viral chart, and has garnered 100 + million views on the platform. The official music video flows with 2 + million views via YouTube. “Don’t Play With It” has recently earned placements on coveted playlists across major platforms, including Apple Music’s “New in Hip-Hop,” “High Maintenance,” “BASE:LINE” and Spotify’s “Most Necessary” “Feelin’ Myself,” “State Of Mind,” and “Pressure.”

The Reefa Music-produced track [Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Lola Brooke], “Here I Come” serves as both a fresh re-introduction for the lyrical assassin, Lola Brooke, as she continues to make her mark as the ‘New Face of New York’ and an indication that she is not one to be played with to all who have followed her journey to stardom from the beginning. The Density & StarMazzi-directed official music video magnifies the lyrical prowess and irresistible charisma of the self-proclaimed 718 princess.

BENTLE — the project of New York-based Australian artist Josh McVey — returns today with his new single, “Darkest Blue.” Simmering with hypnotic pop production, wavy synths and soulful vocals, “Darkest Blue” is an emotive and instantly captivating listen.

BENTLE elaborates on the inspiration behind the new song: “‘Darkest Blue’ is very much about the connection between color, texture and circumstance. There’s been a few times over the past year where it feels like I’m not able to stop myself from sinking or falling into a certain state of mind or state of being. ‘Darkest Blue’ is kind of an exploration of that falling sinking feeling and what it would feel like if I explored it…the visual I had when writing the song was that I fell into the night sky (which was scary and unknown) but I woke up in this ethereal new environment where, though it was still unknown, it was equally intriguing and enlightening.”

Josh McVey (aka BENTLE) is a singer, songwriter and producer originally hailing from Brisbane, Australia and now living in New York City. Producing and writing all of his own material, he delivers glowing indie-pop tunes packed with reflective and introspective lyricism. He’s been laying a foundation over the past few years with a number of single releases, including his 2021 hit “MONDO,” and is now preparing to reveal his debut EP.

This summer Helalyn Flowers launched a remix contest for “Halos”, the last single taken from their “Àiresis” album (available as download and double CD). “Halos” is the opening track of the album and also the most (synth)poppy song of all.

On the “Halo” remix EP you get 13 tracks with remixers reinterpreting this rather addictive song with their own soundpallet. Besides the 6 winners of the remix contest that are Restriction 9, Vdoc, Blue Ant, Digital Shadows, Aggrax Kouture and Luca Truzzo, the Italian artists Noemi Aurora and Maxx Maryan also invited long-time friends and other label-mates in the likes of Aiboforcen, Elektrostaub, People Theatre, Aesthetische, Junksista and Simon Carter to offer their remix skills.

The EP is available on Bandcamp and and on all other platforms including Spotify, Apple Music etc..

Franz Von has shared his highly anticipated new ‘PEOPLE DI POWA’ EP alongside lead single ‘Asem’, featuring the unmistakeable flow of prolific Ghanaian vocalist, K.O.G.

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: FRANZ VON – PEOPLE DI POWA

Fusing tribal hip-hop with elements of jazz, dub and afrobeat, the EP blends powerful spoken word and rap with social commentary and explores the ongoing issue of systemic oppression. ‘PEOPLE DI POWA’ is a reminder that we are powerful as individuals and even more so as autonomous communities.

Fittingly for an EP about community, Franz is joined by a talented cohort of special guests lending their vocal talents – Cortney Dixon, Nikisha in the Woods, Cynthia Bahy, and K.O.G. all feature whilst the production is a collaboration from Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist/Onipa), Lucian Oniell, Labo Klandestino, Mark Stoney, and Toni Smoke.

The EP opens with Franz Von’s trademark bouncing flow on ‘We All Rise’ – “Indulging in the depth of the riddim / The realest therapy the remedy / Medicated taking doses of melodies / Boost the energy sacred chakra replenishes so effortless the specialist” before  Nikisha in the Woods adds her vibrant vocal hook.

New York City-based duo – LAVEDA – offer another glimpse into their glimmering second album with new single: “F***”.

A windows down, wind-in-your-hair, late night drive-worthy track, “F***” sees Laveda perfecting their ansty and ethereal brand of dream-pop while tapping into the agitations and anxieties of young adulthood.

Blending chiffon shoegaze rhythms with propulsive ‘90s-tinged guitars and distant drums, the new cut builds gently to its shimmering conclusion like a college coming-of-age story that sees a disillusioned protagonist defeat their adversaries to come out on top.

Vocalist Ali Genevich explains:

“By my second year of college, I knew I wanted to write, record and perform music all the time. I had a heavy load of requirements for my music degree, so it felt like school was just this big delay to actually starting the career I envisioned. By my fourth year I was completely checked out.

“College felt like high school part two to me. I thought most people would have grown out of the desire to be in cliques and look up to whoever was popular by age 19, but I realised that some people never do. I watched a few friends go through some toxic relationships. It was a perfect breeding ground for sh**ty dudes to prey on naive girls. I wished I could make all the bad people disappear so they couldn’t drag down the ones I cared about with them.”

Reminiscent of  Soccer Mommy, NewDad, Snail Mail or beabadoobee, “F***” follows Laveda’s earlier sun drenched single “Surprise”, both of which will feature on the band’s much anticipated second LP ‘A Place We Grew Up In’ – due April 2023.

Ahead of a stretch of UK shows – CHARLIE CLARK – is pleased to present the new single: “No Big Deal”.

The inspiration for Charlie’s indie imprint ‘No Big Deal Music’, it’s a fervent and fuzzy alt/rock anthem that sets the stage for his imminent debut solo album, ‘Late Night Drinking’, which will be released via the label next week (25 November).

Taking its cues from lo-fi trailblazers the likes of Guided By Voices or Sebadoh, “No Big Deal” is simultaneously laidback, loud, and louche… As Charlie explains:

“I figured I’d covered rock’n’roll and drugs with the previous singles so this is the sex part. I’ll leave it to the listener to figure it out! I wanted to have a really short full on pop track with hardly anything on it…”

Taken from his debut solo LP, ‘Late Night Drinking’ (available 25th November, only via Bandcamp), “No Big Deal” stands as one of the lighter-hearted moments on the album. Shrugging-off the sonic finesses to capture a livewire atmosphere and lackadaisical feel, the single was recorded in a deliberately relaxed session with regular collaborator and producer Jason Shaw (Cambodian Space Project).

Tastemaker-approved R&B newcomer Immi Dash follows up on her sensational debut track with the slinky “You Ain’t Good” – released with Onatura Records.

Continuing to showcase her undeniable potential, “You Ain’t Good” hears Dash’s dreamy vocals gliding across a sinuous 6/8 track, pouring her soul into the emotional self-written lyrics – and just as on her debut single “Show Me”, Dash’s follow-up carries listeners into an emotional earworm of a chorus which utilizes a classic soul vibe with a modern twist.

Immi Dash made the following statement about the single: “‘You Ain’t Good’ represents a moment of realisation in my life. I found that I was pouring all my time and effort into a relationship with a guy who didn’t truly care about me. Even after he did me wrong, I kept making excuses for him. It’s about the moment that you admit to yourself that a person is wrong for you, whether that’s romantically or not, and realizing the version of someone you’ve built up in your mind is not what you see in front of you.”

Born in Scotland to British and Trinidadian parents but raised in the US, Dash’s international background introduced her to a wealth of material which has seen her taking to the stage across multiple festivals and showcases across Europe and the UK. Already securing tastemaker support from the likes of Notion and Apple Music’s coveted “Brown Sugar” playlist for “Show Me”, Dash’s debut credibly introduced the youngster to a tastemaker crowd and put the soul vocalist on the map.

An intriguing newcomer ready to shine with an old-school sentiment, “You Ain’t Good” is a further introduction to the timeless vibes of Immi Dash – a fruitful 2023 lies ahead for this promising young talent.

Rapid-rising Swedish powerhouse Bavé continues to showcase his sleek, melancholic musicality across his hotly-anticipated EP All Stars Aligned.

Effortlessly gliding across spacey instrumentals with his signature high falsetto range, All Stars Aligned perfectly embodies Bavé’s celestial, dystopian blend that transcends any traditional expectation of genre. An organic fairy tale showered with words of love, heartbreak, growth and social divides, the EP illustrates the creative’s complete artistry and the hunger and drive learnt growing up in the projects.

Moving like a coherent body of sound, the 6-track ensemble opens with the eclectic “Mama, I’m A Star Now” – a dreamy soundscape laced with chest-rattling guitar licks and heavy-weight drums that set the bedding for Bavé’s explosive vocal melodies.

Steadily progressing across a stream of powerful indie ballads, “Shells Don’t Crack”, “Show Me Love” and “Dragonfly” shift the record into a state of psychedelia, boasting textures of soft-rock and silky R&B that match the serenity in his cadence.

Concluding with the soothing vocally led tracks “Memory Bank” and “Park Talk”, the EP draws to a triumphant close as the atmosphere turns blissful, leaving tight pockets for Bavé’s stylistic and euphoric vocal prowess. Acutely reflecting his musical diversity as a dizzying reminder of an artist bridging the gap across an ever-growing European scene.

Australian singer-songwriter Elizabeth M. Drummond releases her 6-track debut EP entitled “Congratulations.” Collectively you’ll find a smorgasbord of moods across an indie-rock soundscape featuring some of the best songwriting you’ll hear on a debut EP released in 2022.  You can listen immediately to the EP digitally, including new single ‘Underground,’ out via new talent label Young Poet.

Listen to the full EP – https://elizabeth-m-drummond.lnk.to/congratulations-ep

& the video to Underground – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3kPJnzzK-k

Speaking about the EP, Elizabeth said, There’s really nothing overly conceptual or cryptic about this EP.  It’s just a very real reflection of my inner world after a few big breakups and breakdowns.  As dramatic as this sounds, I really was coming to terms with the fact that I had abandoned myself for most of my life. I naturally feel uncomfortable with showing vulnerability, particularly through music.  For me, writing songs is so private, and I have always been resistant to sharing them in any context. I am so glad that I have.  These songs are me wading through all the details, the attachments, the drama and trauma, all to eventually meet myself fully for what felt like the first time in my life.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have done so.  I live a much healthier and happier life now.”

Today’s EP release also includes Elizabeth’s brand new single Underground which she said was written before she had left her old life adding, “I was still holding onto things, and still really struggling to listen to what my intuition was telling me.  “Turn if off, I don’t care” is a pretty good summary of how I felt.  I just wanted things to end, so I could breathe.  I felt totally smothered by my own inability to face my own fear of letting go.  I recorded most of this song at home on the Central Coast in 2019.  I left it for a long time, until I moved to Melbourne in late 2020.  I worked on it with James Seymour at Small Time and we recorded and added to what I had done.  Jess Elwood tracked drums with us in the studio and Zac Barter added some beautiful strings.”

Born in Kristianstad, a small town in the south of Sweden, Ella Tiritiello was raised by music lovers on a potent diet of powerhouses including the likes of Diana Ross, Adele and Sia “I loved to sing their songs in my room, but I never wanted anyone to hear, mostly because of my stage fright. I couldn’t see myself stand in front of people and sing.”

Today Ella stands as a young artist who’s already overcome her biggest fear. In 2021 Ella was selected by the Tim Bergling Foundation (Avicii’s father) to sing, perform and release Avicii’s ‘For A Better Day’ alongside the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, she rose to the challenge and performed to 16,000 people. A huge undertaking for any artist, let alone a 14 year old with stage fright.

Her effortless vocal talents and authentic stage presence instantly won over the crowd as her confidence blossomed before their eyes. Since then, her recently released music has been spreading word further. With support from the likes of Wonderland, Elle Magazine and a live performance on Sweden’s largest TV channel SVT, plus a knock-out live session at the prestigious ‘Brilliant Minds’, the future looks very bright for Ella Tiritiello.

St. Humain is a Singapore born, Sydney based singer, songwriter and producer whose music is a delicious amalgam of sounds and stories. The genre-agnostic artist blends pop and electronic with a healthy dose of R&B, to create something which is comfortably familiar, yet alluringly unknown. St. Humain strives to represent the everyday person, delivering honest and relatable songs which speak about his own battles and looks to explore the emotions that make us human.

Now, he returns with his single “Pillow”, the final single to be released ahead of his highly anticipated EP METADRAMATIC, which is set to bless listeners as we enter 2023. Sparked from a co-writing session with collaborator Josh Palandi in Jakarta, this next single expands into chronicles of devotion and deliberation alike. Self-produced in Sydney, St. Humain’s next single was later mixed by Simon Cohen (Justin Bieber, Masked Wolf) at Studios 301 in Sydney and mastered by Dale Becker (Doja Cat, Lauv, Lil Nas X) at Becker Mastering in California.

Exploring discourses into the war inside your head that is often battled when you have feelings for somebody, “Pillow” comes to life with honesty and authenticity alike as he channels his dark, electro-pop energy into his next anthem. St. Humain has always been a remarkable storyteller, and “Pillow” is another exceptional example of such. He explains, “Maybe I’m too cautious, maybe I’m too scared. But this song captures the feeling of missing somebody (again) and wanting to be close to them… I’m thinking about them when I go to sleep, and it keeps me up sometimes. But at the same time, there’s something holding me back. My own heart is holding me back. I’m such a slow burn that I’m unable to simply dive into love and need to take things very gradually. This tension between wanting anything but withholding everything became Pillow.”

JULIANA EYE is a dynamic, unapologetic alt-pop artist and songwriter based out of Toronto, Canada. Her brand of indie-pop is inspired by ‘90s & early ‘00s alternative rock and post-punk aesthetics. EYE’s love of infectious pop melodies fused with melancholy & nostalgia informs her ‘danceable sad bangers.’

Her new single, “LATE TO THE PARTY,” is a POV experience of the burden of socializing while fighting depression. It’s an honest confession of feeling the need to mask your emotions in order to face the world when all you want to do is stay in bed and shut the world out.

Born and raised in the Toronto suburb of North York, JULIANA took to music obsessively at the early age of thirteen as an act of teenage rebellion against her traditional upbringing. She spent the majority of her adolescence playing guitar and writing songs in her bedroom while also performing in a number of bands on the Toronto music scene. EYE later went on to work as a session keyboard player with various artists and has since performed across Canada, the US, and Europe.

JULIANA EYE will be releasing her debut EP, ‘LATE BLOOMER,’ in early 2023.

The DIY Guascon farmers are thrilled to announce the release of their second single “Swallows“. The track is accompanied by a stunning animated video, which is available here. The single is taken from the band’s forthcoming ninth studio album Horizon set for release on January 27, 2023, via F.thebassplayer Records.

“Swallows” video has been drawn by Cecilia Pepper and animated by Maxime Cazaux, it perfectly embodies the spirit of this track. Swallows is quintessentially a The Inspector Cluzo song, it is more than a ballad, it brings to the frontline crucial issues we all face, with rock elegance, unbearable sadness and profound anger.

The Inspector Cluzo comments: “At Lou Casse organic farm, we’re fortunate enough to see migratory birds such as swallows building their nest in the old barn. Pesticides used worldwide make it hard for swallows to find food because bugs are being killed in the fields. Furthermore, the proliferation of urban zones prevents them to find proper shelter to raise their young. We can see them disappearing little by little. It’s ironic to know that the use of pesticides is said to “feed people” – most food on Earth is made using chemical agriculture techniques – whereas it destroys every little life around it.

We decided to write a song about the swallows not only because they are so beautiful spinning around in the sky or flying over our organic wheat and corn fields to collect bugs to feed their young, but also to point out that farming is possible without destroying the world. Though it’ll be a long shot and a long fight before modern society understands this.

At Lou Casse, we’ve been trying out this agro-ecology system for more than 10 years now and are so fortunate to welcome swallows every year… “

The band’s forthcoming record, Horizon, comes after the critically acclaimed LP We The People Of The Soil (2018) and the live album Brothers In Ideals – We The People Of The Soil Unplugged (2020). Recorded in three weeks and produced by Grammy Award winner Vance Powell, Horizon is the deepest and truest album The Inspector Cluzo have written to date.

Each song shares and takes inspiration from real life events and experiences. For example, “Wolfs At The Door”, tells the story of the struggle the two farmers experienced when standing up against a duck factory located in front of their farm and the fight they had to put up when faced with a massive bird flu pandemic. “Saving The Geese” describes the civil disobedience against the French State and the big local agro-industries corporations that wanted to kill the band’s healthy animals as “prevention”. “Shenanigans” re-evokes the great times the band spent in Nashville with their friend Bill Elder who run the Shenanigans bar and who put them up during all Nashville studio sessions. “Rockophobia“, on the other hand, is one of the surprises The Inspector Cluzo reserved for the fans, it is a fun rock number, in which the band wonders “what does rock mean today?” laughing at Iggy Pop, who later decided to feature on the track.
