‘Fast X’ is the tenth installment in the Fast and The Furious franchise and once again we see the return of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel). In the latest film of the fast saga, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his wife Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), are happy to have renounced their dangerous street racing-heist lifestyle for the peace and safety of their family. That’s until a psychotic revenge seeker, Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) emerges. Over many missions, Dom Toretto and his family have outsmarted and outdriven every enemy in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat from the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.
Over the years this franchise has gone from being a series about street racing to now a saga about a group of thieves who go on mission impossible type assignments. Once again in ‘Fast X’ were not left short of thrill, as ‘Fast X’ delivers on it’s promise to be a fast paced action extravaganza. ‘Fast X’ marks the beginning of the finale for the Fast and Furious franchise, and it’s going out in style with a multiple explosions, insane destruction, and of course family. What we can tell you that we’ve recently discovered that there will be 3 parts to the finale with of course ‘Fast X’ being the first.
Louis Leterrier takes the helm of ‘Fast X’, after Justin Lin left the directors chair. Leterrier directed films such as The Incredible Hulk and Now You See Me, and he does a pretty good job bringing a lot of energy to the film sequences. From a ball of fire tumbling through the streets of Rome to a thrilling motorcycle chase between Dante and Letty, at no stage is the action not fueled by adrenaline.
I did think Jason Statham’s character was a little under used, as a fan of Statham’s I was hoping he would be in the film a lot more but maybe that’s something we can expect in the other two parts. As well as the usual returning cast we see some welcomed additional characters played by Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, and Rita Moreno.
The Fast Saga has always been able to make people flock to the cinema to see it and ‘Fast X’ will be no different. It’ll blow people’s minds with it’s multiple outrageous moments and prepare you for Fast and Furious 11. One thing I will say is wait until after the credit’s, for what I believe to be a massive cliffhanger moment.
‘Fast X’ is in cinemas now.
