1. Thank you for joining us today, Natasha! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your musical journey began?

HEY! Well I grew up in a large family , I am the middle of 5 siblings. I grew up in the southern California mountains in a small town called Idyllwild. I guess I loved expressing myself creatively from a very young age because as far as I can remember I was on the stage dancing, singing, and acting.

I loved it all so much I moved to Los Angeles after my first year of college to pursue an acting career. I auditioned and studied for a few years before turning my focus solely on music. I sang and worked with a coach for a while, but it wasn’t until years later that I started songwriting after having some life experience it was the key for me to open the flood gates and let it come out. I joined a few bands while living in South Florida and gained some performing experience before breaking off on my own and writing my own songs. I then moved to Europe and was going through some really intense life stuff during that time and that’s really where my artistry began to evolve. It was bittersweet, hard times but great songs were emerging. Then when I was at my limit and missing home we packed up and came back to LA after 8 years being away! Now I’m here, I have built a band and were performing the LA scene and I am gearing up to release my debut full length album!

2. Growing up, who were some of your biggest inspirations and what did you love about their craft?

Oh it’s all over the place but I’ve always been moved my female powerhouse artists.  Early on I was a huge fan of Mariah Carey as I loved all her ballady songs. Then I became obsessed with Christina Auguilera for a long time and i loved the story, power and emotion she brought to the songs. After I started listening to Sara barbells and loved the jazzy feel and incredible storytelling she did, not to mention that beautiful voice! At the same time I’ve had a thing for artists before my generation like Carol King, Linda Ronstadt, and the Eagles as my mom always was listening to them so they were ingrained in my life. But more recently I’ve been influenced by Lana Del Rey, Charlotte Cardin, and Coldplay always been one of my absolute favourites for their melodic storytelling ad positive energy brought to their crowds.

3. Your hometown (or current city) can play a big role in shaping an artist’s sound – how much do you think your home city has influenced your music?

A lot, it was a folky hippie town where appreciation of nature, kindness, and crystals were popular so at heart I’m a mountain girl 🙂  I never felt like I fit into the LA scene, It was just too harsh for me. I also grew up going to church and even though I’m to religious anymore I am very spiritual now and remember the church scene being a huge part of safety for me growing up and kept me out of trouble. But that is the essence of me and I love that it will never change.

4. Let’s talk about your current song, ‘Brother Brother ‘ – can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind it?

Brother Brother has a special place in my heart as I wrote it about my little brother who is struggling with addiction. The song sort of came to me one day , one of thousand songs that falls into your lap. I had these chords progressions I really liked and “he” was weighing on my mind. Then it perfectly came together, like it was already written.

5. Do you have plans to release an EP or album in the near future?

AN ALBUM IS COMING SOON!!  But probably after I drop a few singles first .

6. You’ve performed at a variety of venues – can you tell us about your favorite place to perform and what makes it so special to you?

Probably The Bungalow in Paisley Scotland and the Troubadour in LA.
The Bungalow was amazing because the Scottish crowd was so warm , excited and welcoming. They had no idea who I was as I was opening up for another band and the girls were jumping up and down giving me hugs . They were the coolest !
And The Troubadour was a magical night as all my closet friends were there, the sound was perfect and we felt connected 🙂

7. Are there any upcoming shows or performances where your fans can catch you live?

Not yet . I’m planning to tour with the new album.
