The Review: Denzel Washington At His Thrilling Best In ‘The Equalizer 3’

The Equalizer 3 is a satisfying conclusion to the Equalizer trilogy, delivering exactly what fans of the series have come to expect: stylish action, visceral violence, and Denzel Washington at his best.

The film opens with McCall (Washington) in Italy, where he has found a new community of friends and allies. However, his peace is shattered when he discovers that the mafia is terrorizing the town. McCall must once again step up as the Equalizer, using his skills and experience to protect the innocent.

The action sequences in The Equalizer 3 are some of the best in the series. Fuqua directs with a sure hand, delivering sequences that are both exciting and suspenseful. Washington is also in top form, bringing his usual charisma and intensity to the role. I can say that his character and this series will be missed by a lot of people including myself. Who doesn’t love a vigilante story.

The supporting cast is also strong, with Dakota Fanning giving a particularly good performance as a young CIA operative who teams up with McCall. She continues to prove why she is my favourite actress. The film also features a number of familiar faces from the previous films, including Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo.

I won’t say to much because everyone should go experience this for themselves, but overall, The Equalizer 3 is a solid action thriller that is sure to please fans of the series. It’s a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, but one can only hope Robert McCall will return.

The Equalizer 3 is out now.
