Zoe Wees, born on May 13, 2002, is a German singer whose debut single “Control” achieved chart success, reaching number one in France and the top ten in Belgium. Growing up in Hamburg with benign rolandic epilepsy, Wees describes her journey as a fighter, shaped by the struggles and scars of her condition.

Her music, often characterized as “raw and deeply emotional,” showcases her versatile vocal range, accompanied by her skills on the piano and guitar. Wees attended the Grund- und Stadtteilschule Alter Teichweg in Dulsberg.

From an early age, Wees wrote music in English and began her musical journey as a teenager when her teacher recognized her talent. Despite being eliminated in the Sing-Offs of The Voice Kids, Wees released “Control” in March 2020, expressing her battle with anxiety and epilepsy. The song served as a thank-you to her primary school teacher.

Following “Control,” Wees released “Ghost” in April 2020, part of her debut EP “Golden Wings,” released on May 21 via Capitol Records. Wees revealed that “Ghost” reflects vulnerability and the risks of letting someone too close.

In August 2023, Wees announced her debut studio album, “Therapy,” released on November 3, 2023. The album addresses themes of depression, anxiety, and breakups, offering a personal and therapeutic journey for both Wees and her listeners.

Wees’ music has garnered global success, with her debut single “Control” amassing two billion streams and reaching the top 20 at Pop radio in the U.S. Her follow-up single, “Girls Like Us,” gained recognition for its vulnerable and empowering message, resonating with audiences worldwide. Through her powerful vocals and relatable storytelling, Wees continues to captivate audiences on her emotional journey of self-discovery and resilience.
