Deadline has reported that Jennifer Garner and Paul Walter Hauser have signed on to lead the upcoming true-crime drama, Fruitcake.
“The film will follow a seemingly upstanding middle-class couple who went on to embezzle millions from popular Texas-based business Collin Street Bakery,” reads the initial logline. “Hauser plays Sandy — an unassuming accountant who was funneling large sums of money into his accounts and credit card bills to support a lavish lifestyle, including expensive jewelry, private jet trips and a second home in New Mexico.”
The project will be based on Katy Vine’s Texas Monthly article Just Deserts about the real-life story of Sandy and Kay Jenkins.
