Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Signs On To Lead Netflix’s ‘Man On Fire’ Series

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has signed on to lead the Man on Fire TV show from Netflix, it’s an upcoming thriller series based on A.J. Quinnell’s novels Man on Fire (1981) and The Perfect Kill (1992). As well as leading the series Abdul-Mateen will also executive produce alongside Steven Caple Jr., who is set to direct Man on Fire’s first two episodes.

The synopsis for Netflix’s TV adaptation reads, “Once a high functioning and skilled Special Forces Mercenary, known for surviving even the most desolate of situations, Creasy (Mateen) is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But, before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever.”
