Camila Cabello, the gifted songstress with a passion for poetic storytelling, has once again graced our playlists with her fourth studio album, C,XOXO. Released on June 28, 2024, this vibrant collection of tracks is a kaleidoscope of emotions, a neon-lit rollercoaster through the highs and lows of love, life, and self-discovery.
After parting ways with her long-time record label, Epic Records, Camila embarked on a new chapter under Interscope Records. Just four months after the release of her previous album, Familia, she teased fans with cryptic Instagram posts—voice notes titled “Chords to that verse” and “Venice in rain idea.” The anticipation grew, and on May 9, she dropped the album trailer, leaving us hungry for more.
C,XOXO is more than an album; it’s a visual feast. Imagine pink and blue ski masks, lips perpetually glossed, and eyes lined sharp enough to pierce the night. It’s bikinis under oversized T-shirts, sticky hair after a day at the beach, and tan lines kissed by the sun. Camila invites us into a world where confidence meets cockiness, where vulnerability dances with defiance. It’s a place where you do no harm but take no nonsense—a manifesto for the baddies, the dreamgirls, and the recovering lovergirls.
Let’s dive into the tracklist:
“I LUV IT” (feat. Playboi Carti): A trap-infused banger that sets the tone for the album. Camila’s vocals glide over the beat, celebrating self-love and unapologetic swagger.
“Chanel No.5”: A sultry ode to luxury and desire. The chorus hooks you like the scent of that iconic perfume.
“pink xoxo”: A dreamy interlude where Camila whispers secrets to the moon. It’s like eavesdropping on her heart.
“HE KNOWS” (feat. Lil Nas X): A collaboration that sizzles. Their chemistry ignites the track, leaving us craving more.
“Twentysomethings”: An anthem for the lost and the found. Camila reflects on the messy beauty of growing up.
“Dade County Dreaming” (feat. JT & Yung Miami): Miami nights, neon signs, and a beat that makes your hips sway. Pure summer vibes.
“koshi xoxo” (feat. BLP KOSHER): A bilingual groove that bridges cultures and continents. Camila effortlessly switches between English and Spanish.
“HOT UPTOWN” (feat. Drake): A collaboration we didn’t know we needed. Drake’s smooth verses complement Camila’s fire.
“Uuugly” by Drake: A track that defies beauty standards. It’s a celebration of imperfections and authenticity.
“DREAM-GIRLS”: A shimmering ballad where Camila’s voice soars. Close your eyes, and you’re dancing under starlight.
“305tilidie”: Miami’s heartbeat pulses through this track. It’s a love letter to the city that raised her.
“B.O.A.T.”: Bold, unapologetic, and ready to conquer. Camila sails through life with windblown hair and determination.
“pretty when i cry”: Vulnerability drips from every note. It’s okay to hurt; it’s okay to be human.
“June Gloom”: The album’s emotional climax. Camila’s voice trembles as she navigates heartache and healing.
C,XOXO is a neon wonderland—a place where vulnerability meets strength, where heartache dances with resilience. Camila Cabello invites us to live it the f**k up, to take no nonsense, and to find beauty in our flaws. So, slip on your ski mask, grab your lip gloss, and let the music guide you. Welcome to the world of C,XOXO—where love, rebellion, and neon lights collide.
