Sydney welcome to OLC! Love your name by the way. So can you tell us about your journey into becoming a fashion and lifestyle influencer specializing in Amazon recommendations and how it all started for you? 

    I’ve always had a passion for making content, I started posting on YouTube in 2019 and I was just making videos for fun! I’ve been sharing Amazon recommendations for the past few years and immediately knew that was my favorite type of content to make because it really resonated with my life to share all the affordable home and fashion things I was already shopping for on Amazon!

    What inspired you to focus specifically on Amazon’s marketplace for your fashion and lifestyle content? 

    I jumped into Amazon content really naturally when I moved into my first apartment out of college. I was shopping for affordable first apartment things and just kept finding great home, fashion, and life out of college must haves on Amazon. I was sharing videos of these finds and realized that there were a lot of people like me that loved these affordable Amazon products so I kept sharing them and eventually became the “Amazon Girl”!

    How do you curate the items in your Amazon storefront to ensure they meet your followers’ expectations for style and affordability? 

    Everything in my Amazon Storefront is a product that I own or is from a brand that I have other products from and know their quality is great. It’s super important to me to only have high quality products recommended on my storefront, which to me means products that I personally have spent my own money on or brands I have purchased from and trust their products.

    What are some of your top tips for finding the best fashion, beauty, and lifestyle deals on Amazon? 

    I think finding a few Amazon Influencers who have similar style or aesthetic to you is the best tip to keep up on Amazon products and deals! I’m definitely biased, but I think my Amazon finds are great if you love affordable fashion basics and modern home finds! But I’m no beauty guru, and I’m more of a basics girl so I don’t always keep up on the trendy fashion items, so I have a few influencers that I follow that share those things! I love going to other Amazon girls’ pages to find those products that I’m not an expert in!

    Can you share some of your favorite fashion staples available on Amazon right now? 

    My current fashion staples obsession right now are these mix and match loungewear pieces! I have been wearing the lounge shorts and zip up hoodies nonstop. And the tshirts! The softest material I’ve ever felt in a tee! Seriously, all these mix and match pieces are so good. I love a matching loungewear set, so having multiple pieces I can swap out is my love language. They also come in so many colors I want all of them… 

    What advice would you give to someone looking to build a successful Amazon storefront?  

    My biggest tip for building a successful Amazon storefront is to share products that you’re actually shopping for in your life and don’t get too caught up in all the trending products. I think it can be easy to just put a ton of trending items on your storefront, but anyone can do that. If you want to build a successful storefront you really need to do your own digging, buy new products, and recommend those! You’ll be successful if you’re sharing things people haven’t seen before instead of another post about the viral product that is all over people’s pages already.

    How do you stay on top of the latest trends and ensure your recommendations are always current?

    I actually don’t try to stay up on trends too much because I personally love both fashion and home finds that are more timeless and won’t go out of style too quickly. When it comes to fashion, I check up on the trends of stores like Aritzia and Skims sometimes so I can find Amazon recommendations of similar but more affordable styles. Other than that, I really just like to recommend fashion basics and modern home finds that I like the style and aesthetic of and don’t worry too much if it’s on top of the newest trends. 

    What are some common mistakes people make when shopping for fashion and how can they avoid them? 

    I think the most common mistake people make when shopping for fashion is they’re not thinking about how they would realistically style the piece they’re buying. It can be easy to see a cute top online and purchase it without thinking about what pants you would wear with it, and then it ends up sitting in your closet because you don’t have a lot of options to style it. My tips to avoid this are to make sure you have reliable staple pieces in your wardrobe, and when you’re shopping for new items try and think of 3-5 different ways you could style that piece to make sure you’ll actually wear it more than once!

    How do you balance maintaining an authentic connection with your followers while promoting products through your Amazon storefront?

    Maintaining an authentic connection with my audience is super important to me and it’s something that evolves and changes when I see when content resonates with my followers. Because I do share a lot of Amazon finds, it can be a fine line of sharing products I’m loving and coming across like a sales robot! I try to throw in lifestyle and personal content like ‘get ready with me’ videos, cleaning vlogs, and chatty home updates to maintain that connection with my followers and hopefully come across as a real person and not just an Amazon finds advertisement lol!
