Deadline reports that The Woman in Me biography from Britney Spears is now being turned into a feature film for Universal Pictures. The 2023 Spears’ memoir novel, The Woman in Me, was published by Gallery Books. It quickly proved to be a massive hit, having sold over 2.5 million copies and becoming a #1 New York Times Bestseller.
The Britney Spears biopic will be directed by Jon M. Chu, who directed such films as 2008’s Step Up 2: The Streets, 2010’s Step Up 3D, 2013’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation, 2015’s Jem and the Holograms, 2016’s Now You See Me 2, 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians, and 2021’s In the Heights.
Chu is also currently directing the two-part adaptation of Wicked.
