Matt Reeves has revealed details on The Batman Part II, giving fans a bit of an insight into the sequel that’s scheduled for cinemas in 2026. Reeves spoke to SFX Magazine in which he said about the sequel, that the story will “dig into the epic story” of Gotham City, and explore the corruption of the city in an even deeper way.

“It’s going to dig into the epic story about deeper corruption and it goes into places he couldn’t even anticipate in the first one,” said Reeves. He also stated that the villians of the film will “never go full fantastical”.

“What was important to me was to find a way to take these pop icons, these mythic characters that everybody knows, and translate it so that Gotham feels like a place in our world … It’s meant to feel quite grounded,” Reeves said.
