Deadline reports that Sydney Sweeney is in talks to star in an upcoming adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death for A24. Deadline has also reported that the film is a “wildly revisionist and darkly comedic take” on the infamous short story of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe.
At this stage Charlie Polinger is attached to write and direct the film. So what is the actual short story about? Well it was first published in 1842, and follows the story of Prince Prospero, a man who is attempting to avoid a dangerous plague known as the Red Death, by hiding in his abbey.
