Amazon MGM Studios has released a first look photo from the upcoming sequel to the hit 2018 film, Another Simple Favor. In it we see the return of Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Directed by Paul Feig, A Simple Favor was a crime thriller that starred Anna Kendrick as Stephanie Smothers and Blake Lively as Emily Nelson/Hope McLanden. The new film will see the pair return to their roles, as they try and navigate a murder that occurs during Emily’s wedding in Capri, Italy. Joining the female duo in the cast is Henry Golding, Allison Janney, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, and Alex Newell.
So what do we know about the films story? “Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman,” the official synopsis reads. Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.”
Another Simple Favor will be released on Prime Video on May 1, 2025.
