Amanda Seyfried has confirmed that a Mamma Mia! 3 movie is in the works. While there has been talks about a third film for some time, Seyfried has now confirmed that it’s happening.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Seyfried shared an update about the next Mamma Mia! sequel. “Mamma Mia! 3 is happening,” she said. “It’s going to happen in Greece, hopefully before 2038.” Seyfried confirmed that they haven’t started filming the movie, but “ideally” they’d like to go into production in the summer of 2026.

“It’s going to have to take a lot of people’s schedules aligning and the story being right,” she said. A release date for Mamma Mia! 3 has not yet been announced.
