A Rambo origin movie is in the works, with the plot details being revealed. Deadline reports a new film in the Rambo world is set to launch at the Cannes market. It is being billed as a prequel to the 1982 film First Blood. At this stage the movie will be titled John Rambo, which will be directed by Jalmari Helander, and is said to follow the story of a young John Rambo during his time in the Vietnam War.
Casting is currently in the early stages. Sylvester Stallone is currently not involved in the project at this stage.
