NYC-based artist and DJ Lumia releases her alluring new house anthem, “My Boy”. Embarking on a new journey “My Boy” is the rising talents first single to feature her own captivating vocals.
A hypnotic, bass-driven house cut with a seductive underground edge. Centred around the hook “my boy wants to party,” Lumia’s whispery topline drips with cool detachment over pulsing, club-ready production. Moody, sultry, and made for the dance floor, the track marks a bold new chapter for Lumia as both producer and vocalist.
In its sleek and futuristic accompanying music video directed by Roi Cydulkin, and styled by Jon Yusupova, we see Lumia carrying out day to day tasks like cooking and brushing her teeth in a stylised derelict apartment. Known for her high-fashion modelling experience we see Lumia effortlessly performs to camera, positioning her as a true artist.
Delving into the process behind the track Lumia tells us: “”I’ve been trying to figure out how to put my vocals on a song for a while – whether it was talking or singing. This is the first track I made that made me realize I could sing on my tracks, so it’s really special to me.”
The fast-rising talent continues to build a name for herself as she seamlessly fuses bassline-driven melodic house with deep groove, crafting her own signature blend of tech house. Already garnering critical attention, Lumia has recently played high-energy sets opening for Chloé Caillet, ChaseWest, and Devault as well as the URBAN OUTFITTERS x PINTREST event alongside Tinashe.
Beyond music, Lumia has made a name for herself in fashion, securing multiple campaigns and collaborations with top brands. Now a prominent DJ, model, and photographer Lumia’s ability to move fluidly between music and style has placed her at the intersection of sound and culture, making her a sought-after presence in both industries. With her distinct fashion sense leading to runway appearances and a signing with Elite Models, the fast-rising talent has worked with brands such as VANS, MARC JACOBS, BULGARI, TOMMY HILFIGER, SALOMON, GUCCI, and more.

A multi-faceted and versatile talent, Eric’s sound is as unique as his background. Raised in the Congo, he was suddenly evacuated to Montreal as a child without his family due to a civil war. Eric has since gone on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music including H.E.R., Cee Lo Green, Dallas Austin, Matisyahu, Jordin Sparks, Walter Afasanief, Richard Marx, Randy Jackson among others and has garnered much success in film and TV, producing and writing soundtracks for movies such as Arctic Dogs, Daddy’s Home 2, Red One, Red Notice, Black Adam, Super Pets, Cobra Kai and Guest House.

Kingston, NY via Charleston, South Carolina folk singer-songwriter Ginger Winn grapples with anxiety on “Escape“ out everywhere now and tries to out-run her thoughts through a wintery, vast forest in the official music video. Winn’s sophomore album Freeze Frame is due out June 13. Tonight, the artist and musician/producer A.J. Yorio (Michael Marcagi) will play live at Colony in Woodstock, NY with tickets on sale now here.
“Escape,” out today, sees Winn surrender to herself–it’s a heartfelt plea for self-acceptance and an acknowledgement that one must fully face their fears to overcome them. On the meaning of the track, Winn says, “It’s about running—and trying to escape your own mind and thoughts, which is very hard to do. There’s a double meaning when I say ‘except me / accept me.’ Not only does the song mean ‘there’s nothing to fear except the fear of me,’ but it’s also a plea—as you hear the vocals crying out, ‘accept me.’ Social anxiety in an empty space like the woods is an eerie, indescribable, nonsensical feeling as real as the trees themselves.”
Atwood Magazine, who debuted the single, says, “Brutally honest and achingly raw, “Escape” is a song of reckoning and release – an intimate confessional and a vulnerable, cathartic confrontation with Winn’s inner world: The weight, the pain, the hope, and the healing. It’s about facing our fear head-on, making space within ourselves for it, and finding the strength to move forward – together.”

8know8 is an instrumental “electronic” project based in Toronto Canada, featuring Polly-Jean Vernon on drumkit and synthesizer. Polly-Jean programs sequences on a Roland Juno-DS synthesizer and plays drums while arranging these pre-performed parts in real time. The goal was to blend her love of electronic groove/dance music with her love of live performance. As such all sequencing is done on the synth, not on the computer. This allows for flexibility and evolution during live performances, and ensures that no live performance will ever be interrupted by a software update or computer meltdown 🙂 And as a matter of principle no aspects of the live performances have been altered/shifted/quantized during postproduction. A punk rock approach to electronic music!
The most recent full-length album POLLY (2023) features guest performances from Toronto’s Julia Little on guitar, Bruce MacKinnon (The Silver Hearts) on saxaphone, trumpet player Rudy Ray (Wu-Tang Clan) and trombonist Tom Reader (The Silver Hearts). It was recorded at Dining Room Sound in Toronto in March of 2021. Also available are THIS LONG ROAD (LP, 2022), DESTABILIZER (LP, 2021), and PANDEMIC EP (EP, 2020). The new album “SHE” is scheduled for release in early 2025.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are continuing to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their landmark self-titled debut with today’s premiere of the album’s first-ever official music video, “The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth,” co-directed by award winning filmmaker David M. Helman (IDLES, Vince Staples, American Football) and Daniel Henry (Julien Baker, Foster the People, Kurt Vile). Given carte blanche by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah founder and frontman Alec Ounsworth, the clip is a “celebration for the incompatible and the base models of all things, human and machine” says Helman, represented by a local hero who is a strip mall computer repairman (played by Eric Rahill). The protagonist gets glimpses into the customers’ lives while he tries to fill his own life with beautiful moments.
“I feel like there is a duality between the new and the old in the song – New York and West Virginia,” says Helman, who collaborated with Ounsworth on his 2014 album Only Run. He adds, “Electronics felt like real-world portals to jump seamlessly through time, to tap into virtual memories in a narrative way.”
Helman brought on co-director Daniel Henry, a fellow enthusiast for detail.
Henry reflects, “Once we knew we were planning on swirling the digital lives of the customers on screen, we both took it as a personal challenge to fill this video to the brim with references from growing up on the internet.”

Los Angeles alt-rock band Starling is excited to announce their new EP, Forgive Me, out June 27, 2025 via San Antonio’s Sunday Drive Records. Heralding the announcement is “I Can Be Convinced,” a hard-hitting but sickly sweet departure from their sparse and airy dreamscapes. Today’s release sees the four-piece examine an all-consuming love and the comfort one can find in confinement. Soaring guitars, blistering hi-hats and bandleader Kasha Souter Willett’s saultering vocals push the song towards sonic chaos.
“Smothered. Wrapped up in a warm blanket so tightly you cannot move. A song written about needing stillness, to be told no, to be confined all in a confused love,” Starling say. “Kasha did not intend the song to take such an upbeat direction when she brought it to the band. Although it is a sad and yearning song, the beat and arrangement made this song our lead single.”

One half of GRAMMY-nominated award-winning eclectic hip-hop duo EarthGang, Olu, aka Johnny Venus, follows up his most recent offering “So Beautiful” (Sincethe80s/EPIC), featuring one of Atlanta’s biggest and most coveted R&B stars, 6lack, with a captivating new music video.

The track was notably featured on the coveted Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks and Essence’s Best New Music This Week lists. Now partnering the track is a stunning music video, developed by SATIN HEART with multidisciplinary creative Deon Hinton featuring the artists against textured, atmospheric backdrops that mirror the song’s mood. The Indestructible Water Bear is a Philadelphia-based original indie rock band with an emo edge, fronted by a powerhouse female vocalist whose voice captivates and commands. They have a ‘90s alt rock sound that has been compared to bands like Alvvays, Hop Along, The Sundays, and TheCranberries.
Known for their emotive lyrics and dynamic instrumentation, they craft songs that resonate deeply with listeners. Their music balances introspection with intensity, weaving heartfelt melodies with driving rhythms that create a unique and unforgettable sound.
Their debut album Everything Is OK is a seven song musical envelopment that “explores thecomplexities and power of love and how it can define our emotional landscape in ways that both heal and hurt us,” shares frontwoman Gail Farmer. The album is a riveting mix of indie rock, 90’s inspired alternative and dreamy jangle, with a powerful delivery.
Their single “I Walk the Night” is an indie rock envelopment featuring soul-baring vocals and melodic guitars. Gail Farmer confides,
“We wrote I Walk The Night at a timewhen I was experiencing very fresh grief. For me, “the Night” is an expression of what it felt like to live with my grief, which is such a dynamic and multifaceted emotion. I love this song because it captures so many of those facets, lyrically and sonically. I am fascinated by the duality of love, as a source of pleasure and pain, and that is definitely a theme in this song and throughout our album, Everything is OK.”
