Universal has made quite a few biopics on hip-hop artists like Eminem‘s 8 Mile and N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton. Now it’s set to make a biopic that will tell the story of American rapper, record producer, and actor Snoop Dogg. Co-produced by Snoop. The biopic will be the first movie under Death Row Pictures’ deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios. The screenplay is co-written by Black Panther 2’s Joe Robert Cole.

Deadline reports that Outer Banks’ Jonathan Daviss will be portraying Snoop Dogg. It has also been confirmed that Craig Brewer would be directing.
