INsiders Guide: J-Haze, TDJ, Alice Phoebe Lou, Arm’s Length, FRND CRCL…

J-Haze has announced his first new project in over three years with the aptly-titled No Tomorrow, which will be released on 5.27.25.  You can now also stream two new singles, a non-LP cut, “Stay Strapped,” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again and “Whole Thing” which features Baby Byron.  Both singles are now available at DSP’s.

After previously collaborating with artists such as 21 Savage, DJ Khaled, Yo Gotti, Conway The Machine, Trae The Truth and Glasses Malone, J now links up with bonafide superstar YoungBoy Never Broke Again for “Stay Strapped,” and flexes his double-time flow with “Whole Thing.”

Pittsburgh, PA’s own, J-Haze was born in Beltzhoover section of Pittsburgh (known notoriously as South Zhoove). J, like many, overcame many hardships, none more difficult than being diagnosed with spinal Meningitis at a young age, a deadly disease he survived.  Haze grew up hustling and dabbling in rap, and by the time he was a teenager, he had a significant buzz in Steel City and attracted the interest of major labels. Haze eventually signed a deal with Cash Money Records artist Glasses Malone, who mentored him until his dalliance with Torey Lanez One Umbrella Records imprint, and  Nashawn Carter’s (Jay-Z’s cousin) Iconic Music Group Label; until Haze recently started his own Indy imprint ShowOff Gang, which is distributed through EMPIRE.

J-Haze’s No Tomorrow will be released on 5.27.25 via ShowOff Gang/EMPIRE.

Montreal-based multi-hyphenate TDJ unveils her first single of the year, a soft-focus, serotonin-tinged collaboration with Clara Kimera. “On and On (You Lie)” is out now via Collection Disques Durs/All Night Long.

The track carries TDJ’s unmistakable blend of trance-pop nostalgia and emotional clarity—gentle, but driven by just enough dancefloor propulsion to make you want to throw your hands in the air. It’s a glimmering prelude to what’s next from an artist who continues to reach for something bigger, brighter, and unfiltered.

A singer, lyricist, and producer in her own right, Clara Kimera brings vulnerability to the track. Her lyrics—“I waste my life for us / You lie / Don’t wake me”—feel suspended between dream and disillusionment. Together, TDJ and Kimera craft something intimate yet expansive: a delicate anthem for anyone who’s ever longed to stay inside a beautiful illusion just a little longer. The accompanying video builds on that feeling, starring both artists in a hazy, magic-hour odyssey with Sailor Moon energy and the emotional core of a coming-of-age fantasy. Soft lighting and surreal flourishes make the video feel like a memory just out of reach, equal parts joy and melancholy.

Continuing to open her treasure trove of tucked away storytelling from the last decade, globally adored singer-songwriter Alice Phoebe Lou today releases “The Surface.” A story told in reverse, the acoustic offering unfolds like a rose, petal by petal, until the heart is on full display. In all forms, Alice Phoebe Lou no longer feels the need to fear vulnerability — Stream

“‘The Surface’ is a stream of conscious love song about the deep and contradictory feelings that rise up when exploring a connection with someone you feel strongly about,” she articulates. “It goes through the many phases of holding back and then giving in, starting at the end when someone is finally all in. It talks of the hardships that one has gone through in order to arrive at a place where there is promise of a future and a deep connection and trust. It’s the melting away of our hard outer shells to reach the softer place beneath where we let go and allow ourselves to love and be loved. With just voice and guitar, the music is stripped down and bare like the song.”

Ontario emo rock outfit Arm’s Length unleash their long-awaited sophomore album, There’s A Whole World Out There, via Pure Noise Records. Building on the emotional gravity and raw honesty of their debut, this new full-length is a sweeping, vulnerable journey through grief, mental health, self-doubt, and resilience — all told through massive guitar hooks and gut-punching lyricism. The album can be streamed on all digital platforms at this link: https://purenoiserecs.lnk.to/ArmsLengthMusic

Following an impressive run of singles including “The Weight,” “You Ominously End,” and “Funny Face,” the band shares the final piece of the puzzle with today’s release, accompanied by a brand-new music video for standout track “Fatal Flaw.”

“Fatal Flaw is a song about losing touch with your younger self and truly wondering if they would be proud of the person you are today,” explains vocalist and guitarist Allen Steinberg. “The lyric “look at what you’ve done” in the chorus is meant to be both accusatory and sentimental, looking back at what you’ve accomplished. It’s a classic Arm’s Length tune with a catchy chorus and big dramatic bridge!”

With early praise from Alternative Press, Ones To Watch, Brooklyn Vegan and, Exclaim!, There’s A Whole World Out There is already being recognized as one of spring’s most essential releases.

South Jersey pop punk trailblazers FRND CRCL are back to deliver yet again. Their newest single, “FRVR,” presents a catchy and vibrant embodiment of their modern take on pop-punk.

The track’s uplifting riffs and lively hooks juxtapose its reminiscent lyrics to form a passionate, bittersweet anthem of nostalgia and gratitude.

Berlin psych-rock powerhouse Kadavar return with their most expansive and boundary-pushing work to date – ‘I Just Want To Be A Sound’ out now via Clouds Hill. The album is a manifesto for freedom, transformation, and radical presence—an immersive journey where rock anthems, introspective ballads, infectious pop moments, and cinematic soundscapes collide. Reinventing themselves with each track, Kadavar deliver a record that feels unrestrained and propulsive, capturing the spirit of a band in full creative flight.

The release of the singles “I Just Want To Be A Sound,” “Hysteria,” “Regeneration” and “Scar On My Guitar” marked a pivotal moment for Kadavar, offering longtime fans an exciting glimpse into the band’s bold new era. Each track revealed a different facet of the album’s expansive sonic palette—from explosive rock anthems to brooding, cinematic textures—signaling a clear departure from the band’s earlier, more traditional stoner-rock sound. These singles served not only as a reintroduction to Kadavar but as a statement of reinvention, capturing the restless energy and creative ambition that defines the album. Today’s focus track is the anthemic and all encompassing, “Until The End”, the final song that closes out ‘I Just Want To Be A Sound’.

World’s First Cinema released their introspective single “Broken” featuring JD Cliffe via Fearless Records. This marks their final single from their highly anticipated debut record, Something of Wonder, set for release July 11.

Moroccan R&B artist ilham has released her new single and music video “make the room look twice,” available now on all digital platforms via The Orchard. The new release blends pop, R&B, and house, setting the tone for the playful summer season ahead. On the track, the songstress encourages listeners to move forward from their troubles and have fun.

electronic music artists, John Alto, Marten Hørger, Skepsis, and Ayden Loyde have joined forces to deliver a genre-defying remix package for global phenomenon, DJ and producer Alesso and singer/songwriter Becky Hill’s smash single, “Surrender”, out now via Capitol Records. Reimagining the crossover anthem through four singular sonic lenses, the collaborative body of work promises to ignite dancefloors worldwide – amplifying the groundbreaking blend of Alesso’s euphoric production and Becky Hill’s soaring vocals with new, unrelenting energy. From Alesso: “With such an incredible song and vocal performance from Becky Hill, I knew we had to do alternate versions of “Surrender”. I wanted to curate a group of remixes from around the world and we’re so honored that all these artists delivered amazing reworks.”
