Paramount Pictures has dropped the trailer for Roofman, an upcoming crime movie starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst. The film is based on a true story of former Army Ranger Jeffrey Manchester, a struggling father and escaped convict who robbed many McDonald’s restaurants by entering through the roof.
“It’s been six months, and still no leads on the whereabouts of the escaped convict known as the Roofman,” a voiceover says in the trailer. The footage cuts to Manchester living in the walls of a Toys “R” Us. Manchester managed to disable the recording devices, making it possible to live there in secret. He’s seen fooling around in the store after hours to pass the time. Manchester’s life changes when he meets Leigh, played by Dunst. Leigh is “a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm.” With Leigh in his life, Manchester starts to contemplate giving up his criminal ways. “His double life begins to unravel,” the official synopsis reads, “setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.”
