Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that Crimson Tide 2 is in the works. The 1995 submarine thriller movie was directed by Tony Scott and produced by Bruckheimer, starred Denzel Washington as  Lieutenant Commander Ronald “Ron” Hunter and Gene Hackman as Captain Franklin “Frank” Ramsey. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Bruckheimer stated that Crimson Tide 2 is currently in development.

“We have a really good director and writer talking to the navy right now about what’s going on under the water,” he said.

Washington is not attached to the project yet, but Bruckheimer said that they are hopeful they’ll get him to return. “If we give him a good script, I think he’d do it,” he commented.
