Philadelphia-based indie rock quartet Mo Lowda & the Humble give up on a cat-and-mouse love affair on dark, stormy tune, “Northside Violet” out now. With thunderous drums, fuzzy, distorted guitars and a fiery attitude, the band triumphantly close the book on an on-again-off again flame.

The band’s spirited, texturally rich fifth studio album Tailing The Ghost is due out June 20 and available for pre-save now. Recorded entirely on the road across America’s most scenic settings, the spellbinding LP promises to be the band’s most commanding, cohesive body of work yet.

Plus, the group will embark on a lengthy North American tour this summer and fall, with support from French Cassettes and Illiterate Light and a slew of festival appearances, fresh off an exhilarating Boston Calling appearance. See a full list of dates below, including three sold out Philadelphia-based vinyl listening parties, and grab tickets now via molowda.com/motour.

Jordan Caiola (lead vocals, guitar, bass) says “This is the single with the most attitude. It’s about a cat and mouse love affair, with the narrator having seemingly finally given up on constantly trying to ignite or reignite that spark.” Sonically, Jeff Lucci (bass, guitar, baritone guitar, keyboards, vocals) adds, “To me, it reminds me of some dark New York alleys, but yet, the alley itself is actually a desert. Urban desert. This track is interesting for me because I did not use a bass guitar to get the mean subby tones.”

Cinema Music Group (CMG) is a Los Angeles-based production house founded by longtime friends and collaborators Dave Resnik and Niko Bolas. With decades of experience between them, they’ve worked with some of the biggest names in music—from Neil Young to Mavis Staples to Don Henley—and share a deep belief in capturing music the old-school way: live in the room, minimal takes, and maximum feeling.

Dave Resnik has composed music for major networks like ABC and CBS and performed with artists including Ricky Martin, Donna Summer, and Sonia Dada. He also spent time in A&R, signing bands like Kyuss and working with Lucinda Williams. Niko Bolas is a legendary producer and engineer whose credits include James Taylor, Sting, Billy Joel, KISS, and a long-running collaboration with Neil Young.

In 2021, after reconnecting at a friend’s wake, Dave and Niko launched CMG with the goal of reimagining classic songs and producing new music with both established and emerging artists. They quickly became known as “the cover guys,” working out of their LA studio The Surf Shack and partnering with talents like Chris Pierce and Charlie Greene.

Their latest project is their most ambitious yet: Heart Of Gold Volume 1, a compilation of Neil Young covers performed by artists including Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile, The Doobie Brothers, Eddie Vedder, Mumford & Sons, and many more. What began as a one-off session with Chris Pierce turned into a full-scale benefit project with Neil’s blessing, supporting The Bridge School—a pioneering nonprofit that helps children with severe speech and physical impairments through assistive technology.

Los Angeles alt-rock band Starling are excited to share their latest single “No Frown,” the last preview of their new EP, Forgive Me, out June 27, 2025 via San Antonio’s Sunday Drive Records. Performed as a duet, “No Frown” documents the invincibility and sweetness that a small town love can bring. Acoustic guitar and string arrangements evoke fond memories, yearning for the past as Kasha and Gitai’s vocals reminisce on moments of desire. A striking, ever-relevant song, Starling’s entry into the slowness marks one of their most reflective and memorable releases yet.

“‘No Frown’ is the most acoustic song on the record. It is about growing up in a city and falling in love with someone from a small town, and falling in love with the small town itself,” Starling say. “It is a sweet song, it feels complete; All of Starling’s usual yearning satisfied. The lyrics were written by Kasha and performed both by her and lead guitarist Gitai. Erik orchestrated the strings.”

THEKOIWAY is a boundary-pushing Latin Alternative project led by Chilean multi-instrumentalist and producer Victor Vildósola, blending Andean instruments, funk grooves, hip-hop rhythms, and Latin folk into a genre-fluid sound best described as global, gritty, and deeply human. Now based in Brooklyn, Vildósola brings together decades of musical influence, from the streets of Santiago and Mexico City to the underground pulse of New York, to create music that moves both body and mind.

Their new single “La Calle Quema” is a decade-spanning collaboration with Chilean artist Jamez Manuel (Zonora Point), born in a Mexico City studio in 2012 and reimagined in Brooklyn in 2024. With live drums, fiery verses, and production touches from mixer Rocky Gallo (Norah Jones, CeeLo Green) and mastering engineer Tom Waltz (Fleetwood Mac, Alicia Keys), the track fuses funk, hip-hop, and Latin soul into a powerful street anthem.

“La Calle Quema was born from lived experience—moving between Santiago and New York, seeing how the street shapes people, how it breaks some and builds others,” says Vildósola.

Hailing from Long Beach, CA, Brandon Wayne is carving out his place in the music scene with a bold fusion of country and rock. Drawing inspiration from blues, classic country, metal, and hard rock, his latest single, “No Good,” showcases his dynamic sound and genre-blending talent. Known for his high-energy live performances, Brandon captivates audiences with an electrifying presence that keeps fans coming back for more. Unafraid to challenge conventions, he consistently pushes the boundaries of both his music and his listeners. Just one thing’s certain—if you offer him a good time, he’s all in.

Rising artist, Daniel Arison, teams up with chart-topping pop provocateur, Leah Kate, for a high-energy remix of his fan-favorite single “Selfish,” out now. Originally released as a soulful, mid-tempo confession of vulnerability and heartbreak, “Selfish” gets a bold new twist with Leah Kate’s signature edge and unapologetic flair. The remix heightens the emotional tension of the original, turning the track into a fiery duet that brings both artists’ perspectives into sharp focus.

“I always imagined ‘Selfish’ as a conversation,” says Daniel. “Leah brought that
energy and gave it a whole new life—it’s a sonic tug-of-war.” “When I first heard ‘Selfish,’ I immediately connected to the emotion behind it,” adds Leah Kate. “Jumping on the remix felt natural—it’s raw, it’s honest, and it gave me space to bring my own story to the track.”

As a Los Angeles-based Afro-Dominican multidisciplinary artist whose work spans film, television, theater, music, and poetry, Michelle Núñez’s music blends raw vulnerability with cinematic imagery. Raised in a military family and shaped by a nomadic upbringing across New York, Germany, Washington, Texas, and Florida, Núñez finds stability in creativity, where her songwriting reflects the inner world of someone who’s constantly evolving, unafraid of emotional depth, spiritual questioning, or the quiet courage it takes to keep going. Her mature singing and songwriting abilities can be attributed to her time studying voice at the Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, allowing her to become a storyteller at heart. As a multi-faceted talent in the entertainment industry, Núñez is known for her breakout role as Zane on Tyler Perry’s critically acclaimed series Ruthless. Her acting career includes stage work in the regional premiere of the Broadway play Seminar and TV appearances on ABC’s The Rookie: Feds opposite Niecy Nash, and Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey alongside Phillipa Soo. She is also a veteran of the Tampa Bay Theatre Festival, the Tampa International Fringe Festival, and has starred in multiple films, including God’s Waiting Room (Tribeca) and Nerve for Monster Energy TV, starring Olympic silver medalist Colby Stevenson. Dedicated to her craft, Núñez approaches songwriting the same way she approaches acting: with heartfelt integrity and a desire to uplift, provoke, and heal. Núñez is a rising force in the music scene with her well-rounded heartfelt lyricism and dynamic vocal prowess to show audiences her authentic self while also getting them to think.

One of NYC’s most vital, new rock voices, The Thing today releases the next two singles off of their upcoming album with “Alive (The Sword)” and “Holy Water.” Arriving in full on August 6, the band has been releasing their self-titled third album in thematic packages of A/B-sides over the last few months. As reverent of the city’s gritty past as they are hungry to reinvent it, The Thing was recorded entirely analog, self-produced, and tracked live to tape without the use of a computer. The result is The Thing at their most immediate and unfiltered — Stream today’s new releases.

Now officially crossing into the back half of the album, The Thing takes a moment to show how masterfully they can tiptoe between restraint and release. “Alive (the Sword)” rocks in like a viking ship on the high seas, building beautifully throughout the journey. Guitarist/vocalist Jack Bradley said it’s time to reflect on, “having patience and becoming the person that you know you should be — and having faith. There’s no need to jump the gun, which is something that I struggle with.”

In the 6-minute epic that is “Holy Water,” there’s a palpable transition from something once in the realm of The Beatles, to the repertoire of Radiohead. Taking time to show off the Jazz training of drummer Lucas Ebeling, Bradley shared that “It came out really organically, all of us just playing and having the first part completely die out and then kick back in with the same chords and same song, but just with the different inflection.”

Stepping forward and standing out with her striking debut, Chase delivers the emotive and introspective ‘Pretend Again’. Produced by Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Florist, Tomberlin) in his studio in NYC, today’s release acts as a flawless introduction to Chase’s artistry.

I didn’t intend for something so intimate to become a song. But songs have a funny way of finding you and giving you language for the things you didn’t know you needed to name.”

Rich, timeless vocals capture Chase’s journey of self-discovery, woven through poetic lyricism as she comes to terms with some big revelations. Sharing more, Chase explained: “It’s interesting how whole revelations can begin with a single question. For me, it was a little bit like finding a stray thread hanging off the edge of a sweater. Once I started pulling, the answers came to me in the form of whole unravelings.

Waring Records and Alfreda! are thrilled to announce Alfreda!’s debut solo album Fate Will Have It, due out later this year—the first album to be released from Jordan and Sinead Waring’s Waring Records.  A label rooted in legacy and built on genre-crossing music.  “Died to Myself,” the first single off the new album, is out today on all DSPs.  “When I first read the lyrics to ‘Died to Myself,’ I felt like I was staring into a mirror,” says Alfreda!  “It spoke to parts of my journey I don’t always talk about—learning to release pride, confront pain, and open myself to something greater. I didn’t want to just sing it—I wanted to feel it, word for word. This song demanded everything from me, and I gave it everything I had.”

“‘Died to Myself’ is about surrender—spiritual, emotional, and personal. I wrote it as a reflection on what it takes to let go of ego and truly begin again. It’s a story about hitting bottom, waking up, and choosing humility over illusion. When Alfreda delivered the vocal, she didn’t just sing it—she gave it soul. That’s when I knew the song had become something bigger than me.”
