Siena Fantini brought this playful tune, pulled straight from the pages of her diary, to life at Altamira Sound, with the support of top industry professionals, including producer and bassist Sean Hurley (John Mayer, Lana Del Rey) and Grammy Award-winning engineer and mixer Darrell Thorp (Foo Fighters, Radiohead). The alluring narrative of “poptart” is enriched with sensory reference points, the stale texture of the namesake breakfast treat, a comparison of the merits between Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke, and holding someone who looks “…like a Tuscany summer night.” “‘poptart’ is a song about the little points in time feeling so big when you have confusing feelings for a friend,” Fantini explains. “It can feel like those tiny moments are slid under a microscope and every single detail sticks with you and runs through your mind.” To bring the track to fruition, Fantini recruited guitarist Harrison Whitford (Phoebe Bridgers), drummer Kiel Feher (Selena Gomez, Lauv), and Taylor Mackall on keyboard/pianist (Lizzy McAlpine, Joni Mitchell).
