Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, and several other notable actors have joined the ensemble of Chris Rock’s upcoming directorial project. Rock has written the original screenplay and will also take on a starring role in the film. The movie, which is currently in production in Los Angeles, marks Rock’s first collaboration with the studio A24, and is believed to be a drama.
The cast includes Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Rosalind Eleazar, and Anna Kendrick. Rosalind Eleazar, will portray Misty Green—a talented actress whose career stalls unexpectedly. Her fortunes begin to shift when an old acquaintance offers her a chance at redemption.
This project appears to be closely related to an earlier announced film titled Misty Green, which was reported in November 2024. According to outlets like Deadline, that film would feature Rock as Jordan, a filmmaker who reconnects with Misty and presents her with a role that could revive her career—though their complicated history complicates the situation.
Details about the specific roles that Driver, Kaluuya, and Kendrick will play remain under wraps. This film will be Rock’s fourth feature as a director, following Head of State (2003), I Think I Love My Wife (2007), and Top Five (2014). He is producing the project alongside Peter Rice and David Worthen Brooks, with executive producers including Nelson George, Shaum Sengupta, and Miles Alva.
